There are several Aureum Palace properties, including both Bagan and Inle.

Those same agents visited the Park Hyatt and said they had the worst hotel food/hotel restaurant meals of their lives.

Will be interesting to check it out, that's for sure.
I'm skeptical too. By the way never heared something negative about PH food. During my stay it was excellent

Also can't find much to complain about PH food. Breakfast wasn't quite to the same standards of top hotels in HK, but certainly not bad. Can definitely say the same about their restaurant for dinner.

Next month! Not in front of my computer and can't recall exact dates, but somewhere in the Nov. 10-19 area.

Looks like we'll just miss each other - we will be flying to Rangoon on 20th for our stay at the Strand. You should be one of the first to stay following the refurbishment.

Greatly looking forward to hearing about the newly renovated Strand - we had a lovely stay here when it was managed by Amanresorts and will always remember lobster thermidor in the restaurant when we were the only two diners. A fabulously atmospheric place to stay that only lacked a pool or any outside area. It seems The Strand is linked to a river trip -

As for myself, next month, it's Cobblers Cove for a few days in Barbados.

Yep - that's half the point of this trip - checking it out right after the refurb. Look forward to the ship out of Mandalay as well ^

Sorry to miss you!

Switched the FS Hong Kong for the Pen since there's a 3rd night free. Also booked a night at the Pen in Tokyo for my March Asia trip.

Really looking forward to it!

We like Cobbler Cove sister resort: The Sandiper.

Very much look forward to the cruise element. Can't wait! Only taken one river cruise before (a Viking cruise in/around Bordeaux), and my expectations are extremely low. The Strand and the Aqua cruises are the only ones I have the slightest interest in these days ^

Siem Reap

Amansara 9-12 March 2017
? 12-14 March

Looked at Phum Baitang but wasn't the best of time apparently.

Thoughts between Park Hyatt, Belmond, FCC and a host of others there?
