Triple Creek Ranch in Montana feeds the elk, so there are always dozens of them around the property.

It is surprising how many hotels have been former jails

Four Seasons at Sultanahmet Istanbul used to be a jail.

Malmaison Oxford is also a pretty luxurios prison-turned-hotel.

The Liberty Hotel in Boston, United States used to be the Charles Street Jail. Now apparently luxurious.

The Jailhotel Löwengraben in Lucerne, Switzerland is a converted prison now used as a hotel.

Breakwater Lodge, on the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, is the country's first jail-turned-hotel.

The Jail Hotel, Mount Gambier, keeps the jail concept in Australia.

Alcatraz Hotel, Kaiserslautern, Germany provides pretty much the real feeling of the former jail.

And some Jail B&B exist in Washington, Minnesota, Ottawa, Ljubljana.

Any number of Central American eco-lodges have all kinds of real wildlife roaming around.

The most impressive one I've been to in terms of wildlife was Bosque del Cabo in Costa Rica. It's truly a jungle resort, and every morning we woke up to howler monkeys, macaws, toucans and all kinds of other birds and mammals.

We also got the howler monkey treatment (which scared the crap out of mrsmicah the first morning) at La Lancha in Guatemala.
