Given that this is a business hotel, I thought it looked excellent.
Really- I have not been inside yet so perhaps I judged incorrectly- I cannot see how it would have good views however if it does that is excellent.

If I am staying in Pudong, I usually stay at either the Shangri-La or recently a few times at the Park Hyatt as our offices are in the Jin Mao tower. The Horizon Club at the Shangri-La has excellent service- perhaps the best I have had in Shanghai and also the views are wonderful. Finally I really appreciate the policy of Shangri-La with free internet for all guests (at Hyatt also as a Diamond member). The nickle and diming of the Four Seasons on internet is really a very poor decision in my opinon- and using wayport as a provider makes it even worse.

FS are, I hear, very quietly, phasing out Internet charges, or at least creating a 2-tier system so that standard (i.e. just checking your e-mails) becomes free and fast is charged for (downloading films etc). I agree about Wayport, though. Could be this, too, is being phased out as I am seeing fewer and fewer FS hotels using it these days.

Be sure that FS Pudong has some amazing views. Even if you stay on the 'wrong side' facing away from the Bund, the views are striking.

I also think that the Chinese restaurant which has a separate entrance on the ground floor) should be really special. I was not expecting to like this hotel but came away looking forward to staying there (although Shanghai is not a frequent destination for me).

Thanks vuittonsofstyle for the update! Pudong is not a particularly nice area to stay in- however with the development that has and is continuing to spring up here- it is becoming the major business hub of Shanghai now.

The new Andaz by the way is not luxury however certainly has a wonderful location for a visitor being in the heart of Xiantindi- will be curious to see how the Langham (connected to it) works out.

I just learned that Olivier Lot who was bar & lounge director at FS George V will joint FS Lion Palace St Petersburg, he shall arrive in March, but I still do not have any opening date. I need it to open before May 8th!

Nice to hear on expansion into Latin America.

So will this give two FS hotels in Mumbai? Next to each other?

Doesn't this belong to COMO ? Or at least mr Ong B S ?
Thought COMO would get to diversify into Africa ..

Then again ......Still don't think COMO is up to doing it well.....
