The Presidential Suite at the St. Regis in Aspen - the most amazing roman bath I've ever seen - and the view wasn't bad either.

Must agree that any suite at the Burj al Arab is spectacular.

Las Vegas

I arrived late in Las Vegas one Friday night and they had overbooked the suite I reserved at the MGM Grand. The clerk apologized, got on the phone with a manager and then turned around smiling and said "I think you will like this. We have a Terrace Suite for you which I think is the best suite in the hotel."

It was a 1300 sq ft, 2 story suite with vaulted ceiling but the big plus was the terrace; an 800 sq ft patio with hot tub (or cold in Vegas) with 180 degree view. We spent most of the next few days there. It really cost them some casino time from me.

Wow, I will have to savor this thread and read more slowly, but thought I would add some interesting rooms/suites here, in no particular order (no, they do not hold a candle to some of the suites described in this thread):

1. Lizard Island, Australia - Sunset Point Villa
no keys, no locks - we left the sliding glass doors open all day and night while we were off exploring the island. Views from the bed out to the sea; daily 4pm delivery of ice and cookies. The pictures on the website really don't do it justice.

2. Bora Bora, Pearl Beach - Deep Overwater Bungalow
Again, a magical experience. Your own thatch roof hut with no other huts visible. On its own private motu (island), Views across the lagoon of the big mountain on Bora Bora. Clear glass coffee tables and end tables, as well as counters in the bathroom, so you can watch the fish, octopi, skates and rays swim by. Private bi-level deck to the lagoon with its own outside shower. Turndown service included flowers on the bed. Again, I don't think we closed the sliding glass doors ever. Even with a water shortage on our last 2 days, I almost cried when it was time to go.

3. San Francisco - The Palace Hotel
Was a repeat visitor for business in years past, and got complimentary upgrades several times. The craziest one was a corner suite over 1500 square feet with views of the Transamerica Pyramid, a chandelier in the living room, a fireplace, a king sized bed with draperies and a bathroom that had 9 towels of each size in it - with a separate dressing area, sink area, bath area, closet area, and toilet area. The service there is excellent.

4. Aspen - St. Regis
Got a superior 1-BR suite via a luxury link package at the height of ski season for essentially the price of a regular room. This suite was probably "only" 1100-1200 square feet. Mountainview, 2 full baths, breakfast everyday, fresh flowers in our room. When they saw that we'd brought our dog, Boo got his own bed (a purple and gold embroidered pillow that was so nice he thought it was human furniture, and stayed off of it!), dishes and a place mat. Staff couldn't be nicer. The master bath had his-hers closets, a separate dressing area, and 2 marble wings - 1 side had the toilet and shower, the other had the double sinks and a deep soaking tub. Another nice touch: a humidifier in the bedroom that was refilled every day since the air was so dry.

5. Not really a hotel room but an Experience: The Sea Cloud - a 4-masted sailing ship that was a wedding present from EF Hutton to Marjorie Meriweather Post. Abercrombie and Kent charters trips - the food is top notch, the service impeccable, and the ship is just a dream. Any cabin on the main deck, 1-10, is to die for, kept with same decor as it was in the 30's, but cabins 1 (hers) and 2 (his) are really over the top. (Not to be confused with Sea Cloud II.)

6. Sydney, Australia - W Pier Loft
Again, got with points, got upgraded, so it feels especially luxurious! Bi level loft on a pier in Woolloomoolloo. Neat architecture - it's a converted warehouse/factory on a pier, so all you see out the room is water! upper level is bedroom, open to below, with a small bathroom. Skylights over bed. Lower level is cathedral ceiling living room, smallish dining area (seats 4) and another bath.

Mine are modest compared to others, but these are my favorites suites:

Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket - Two story villa on lagoon, semi-private pier for arrival by boat after check-in (paths from the front door for getting around to resort), patio on water and second story balcony w/water view. Bonus outside shower/ large soaking tub.

Sheraton Marina San Diego - Full suite w/ three distinct areas: bedroom, sitting room with couches and full 8-seat dining table area. Great view of the marina.

W New York - Junior suite with outside balcony on high floor. Nothing too fancy, but for a first time visitor to NYC being able to sit outside and watch the city move by was fascinating.

Talking

After having read this whole thread about suites and and the high rolling adventures of many, I have some to share.

I was in Las Vegas back in August of this year, I got in at night via limo from the airport to the MGM Grand. I asked the lady if they had any of their jacuzzi suites available. The lady replied there was only one left so I gave her my card and said "go ahead, upgrade me to that room". I loved the room - was a 700+ sqft room with jacuzzi and shower combo. Really enjoyed my week long stay at the MGM Grand too!

I am going to SYD + ADL and might upgrade my rooms there on the spot when I go. I am staying at the Radisson Hotel + Suites when in SYD, and in Rydges Adelaide when in ADL.

Corner suite at the SPG LC Hotel Imperial in Vienna. It was also my last hotel stay with former ms. sosmart. She'll never see a room like that again.

It was just perfect. Not spectacular size-wise, but I felt like I was staying in one of the smaller rooms of the Vatican Museum, or some other such place.

Being European, I appreciate and understand the "from-another-era" appointments. My american partner's jaw just stayed dropped the whole day/night. Also, I think they let us check out at 6pm. On a points stay!

Banyan wing suites (only two of them) at the Surfrider are nice too. Good luck even paying for one.

I see Le Sirenuse in Positano has been mentioned twice, let's make it three. Magic location, great food and service and pool loungers that are like twin beds.

Chateau Chevre d"Or in Eze, France. Perched above the sea with views over St, Jean cap Ferrat. Rooms 18 and 19 are large and airy and have unobstructed views and two large terraces, one for eating and one for sunbathing. Very private.

I also very much like the one bedroom suites at the Peninsula's in Hong Kong and Bangkok, but was really wowed by the two story suites at the Pen in Beijing. They come with club floor service one storey below. The floor is run like a machine of great service by the manager Mary Li. Truly remarkable service even for a Peninsula Hotel.

And peculiarly, the Winston Churchill suite at the Rock Hotel in Gibralter. The suite was just a one bedroom but very plush. The memorable part is that the room opened onto one of the largest private terraces I've seen with a view overlooking the mountains of North Africa. it looked like a matte painting. Service and ambiance at the Rock was just so, so.

Wow.... I never expected this thread to grow so much!! Thank you very much.

I have stayed in two different kinds of suites at One Aldwych in London which were both very nice and comfortable given London standards. One Aldwych is a triangular shaped building and most of the best rooms (Deluxe) and suites are on the 3 ends of the triangle.

Executive Suite: 4th floor, on the end of the hotel overlooking Catherine Street and Aldwych towards the Strand Theatre. Large semi-circular living room with dining table for 4, sofa, 2 arm chairs, work desk, and a kitchen in the corridor leading from entrance into the room.
Bedroom is on the right as you enter the first outside door. Very comfortable, but a bit large for one person. Was given this as an upgrade.

Studio Suite: 3rd floor, on the end of the hotel overlooking Waterloo Bridge, Strand, and Lyceum (Lion King) Theatre. Had king bed, work desk, coffee table, sofa, two arm chairs and a bathroom with separate tub and shower. The views were awesome and I actually prefer this suite over the Executive Suite. This was also given to me as an upgrade. We held a party here for 12 of my friends and we had no issues with space at all.

Aladdin Resort and Casino - crescent shaped room "capping" end of the wing on 40-something floor giving panaramic view of city strip. Large marble tub, seperate bedroom. Two baths. There were two key-only floors higher than mine. Anyone know what those rooms are like?

A two bedroom suite at the Gritti Palace, Venice, on points and upgraded with status; and the Presidential Suite at the Hotel Coronado, on cash and upgraded with dumb luck (maybe President R.R. failed to show at the last minute)

Diplomatic Suite at the Sheraton Algiers. Small but very nice. The rooms on the SPG floor are very nice as well.

The Amman Marriot had the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in anywhere.

Two more came to mind:

1. Superior Suite, Four Seasons George V
http://www.fourseasons.com/paris/vac...m_252.html?id=

The suite shown in the picture looks to be exactly the one we had. About 900 sq ft, with pocket doors separating the living room from a very large bedroom. We had a full marble bathroom with double vanity, as well as a walk-in closet off the master bedroom and a powder room off the entry foyer.

The hotel had a bottle of Billecart-Salmon Rose champagne and fresh strawberries waiting in the room for us. A very nice touch!!

2. Imperial Junior Suite, Hotel Imperial, Vienna

Large corner room facing the Karntner Ring with a large single room with bed, executive work desk, chaise longue, sofa and VERY high ceilings. Bath featured separate shower and tub while a walk-in closet was just off the entry foyer. Bed was a little lumpy but the room was gorgeous. This being early December the hotel was very nicely decorated with Christmas ornaments.

Every night, we received an Imperial Torte with our turn-down service.
