Apparently they are doing a minor refresh.

On reflection you are paying Maldives prices but it is much easier to get to and a very different cultural experience.

We may try the Amanoi but probably only for 3 nights. The other advantage of the FS is it's not as isolated as the Amanoi meaning you have off site options.

When we return we will book via Virtuoso.

Thanks for this. We will most likely stay there around Easter 2018 and it looks very good.

@m0hamed Does all the room includes all the amenities offered to you ? such as complimentary mini bar, limousine service and etc.

i would imagine no problem with bookings made prior to change

after change, if of interest, worth confirming with a manager

hmm, GHM and FS started including 2nd row in beachfront category

Recently stayed Intercontinental in Danang. IMHO better than Nam Hai six ways to Sunday.

I don't really think of ICH as a luxury brand, but...
  • Food is better
  • Service is better
  • Villas are nicer
  • Overall appearance of the resort is much nicer
  • The beach/ocean is incomparably better

Caveat - Haven't been to Nam Hai in a couple of years. At the time, service and food were very good but not outstanding. That might have changed since FS took over.

FSNH has some serious flaws but these two properties are nowhere near comparable.

While I do love a good Four Seasons, I really think that GHM has done a remarkable job with The Nam Hai. And I am usually a bit critical of GHM. Standards were high and it was really hard to find a better deal in Vietnam.

And that exactly might have been the problem, as it sometimes was a too good of deal -- new owner brought in FS for a reason. Rates have gone up and will go up... and clientele has changed drastically.

Agree. The Intercontinental is much better.... albeit slightly more expensive for comparable villas.
