Best Luxury Hotel in Singapore? (consolidated thread)

Hi all,

Was hoping to get some recommendations for where to stay in Singapore in February.

Don't want to stay in Sentosa, so I think my options are Fullerton, Fullerton Bay, Shangri-la ?

I havent heard too many nice things yet about the Marina Bay Sands or on these forums.

Any suggestions? :)

Thank you

Four Seasons?
St Regis?
Mandarin Oriental?

Even the Raffles depending on what you are expecting from a 'luxury' hotel.

Many folks also like the Fairmont Hotel Singapore, they´ve got some great suites and booking a suite entitles you to lounge access which includes breakfast, evening canapes and comp. drinks.

I´ve booked a 2200 sq.ft. Penthouse Suite for next January and am looking forward to my stay. (especially as I´m paying less than the rate of a standard room :))

Also the Ritz Carlton for the fabulous view though I haven't heard anything lately regarding their needed refurbishment. Anyone have intel?

kzap, Like Pierre&Cédric mentions you've missed out on some of the best contenders. FS seem to be the one generally considered to be the best while Raffles undisputably has the most character.

Out of the ones you've mentioned Fullerton is the one that this forum (though I don't claim to have Kagehitokiri's Google-fu) considers the best. The new Golden Circle program at Shangri-La has elites up in arms currently. This doesn't say anything about the hotel itself however.

Sadly the FS in Singapore is darkish, has ugly 90s design, an ugly spa and pool area, too huge and inpersonal restaurants.

And many of the rooms in the very touristy Raffles do not even have bedroom windows at all.

So I would advice anybody to avoid these two!

When the Raffles was built A/C was not available and they had to protect rooms from heat. I like the idea that when staying there you experience the life of their first guests. If you want large windows and a view go to the Ritz Carlton.

It's a romantic idea - but in reality, it's a depressing, prison-like experience!

This room (at 1"10) at the Fullerton offers a true prison-like experience!:D
Last time we went to Spore we stayed one week at the Raffles, I just love this hotel. We had a room facing the Palm Court, in fact there are plenty of hidden pathways and it's much more quiet than one can expect.

The Fullerton comes with Club access and upgrade at booking as Virtuoso amenities.
