We're waiting for their spa to re-open to commit, but apparently it's end of May.

MacMyDay - If you get to Gidleigh Park you might look at nearby Lympstone Manor, the brand-new hotel opened by Michael Caines, the long-standing chef at Gidleigh Park now striking out as the West Country's answer to Raymond Blanc. The house looks beautiful and there are views across the Exe estuary, though there isn't anything else as yet, except for the restaurant of course. Prices are pitched at the luxury level.

Thank you, sir, I was not aware of it and it does look like a project of love. Not sure that I love that you cannot book a room without his food being included in the cost, but I suppose we wouldn't want to upset chef. I may give it a go, even if just for the night.

I'm staying here soon and will provide a full write up after our stay. As it's part of a larger itinerary to the Florida Keys where all our other accommodation is ocean view so we opted for a Premier City View room. I really wanted to try the Cabana Studios but they aren't going to be completed in time.

Ah, how wonderful! Looking forward to your report. Now with Florence Zwicky leading their F&B operations there, service in the restaurants must be really special already -- hope same can be said about the rest of the hotel.

WA opens in June I believe. Some of the rooms and suites look absolutely fantastic. I hope service is better than typical WA standards...
