DUB-FRA-DEL / Connecting time at Frankfurt
Hello everyone,
I bumped into this thread while searching for information regarding connecting flight at Frankfurt. To begin with, this is a great forum for flight information. I was reading the first post and first page.
I would be flying to Delhi from Dublin via Lufthansa, layover of 1 hour 25 minutes at Frankfurt. I gather that minimum connecting time at Frankfurt is about 1 hour 5 minutes. Believe I will have to go from Pier B to Pier C .
Since, I will be flying from non-Schengen region to non-Schengen region, I believe there won't be any immigration/passport control to go through and only Security Check to pass.
To go from Pier B to Pier C, is walking the only option or is there bus or sky train connection as well? Is 1 hour 25 minute sufficient time to board the Delhi bound flight given flight from Dublin arrives on time?
Cheers,
Amol

You are correct. You only need to go through security and no passport control since you are connecting from non-Schengen to non-Schengen. If your flight arrives in B you can take the Skyline train from B to C. The stop for B used to be shared between B and C, so it's a bit of a walk from B gates but it's better than walking all the way to C, which you had to do before they built a new stop for C gates.
Some flights from DUB arrive at A bus gates. If your flight does take the Skyline train from A/Z to C (2 stops).
You should be fine if your flight from DUB is not very late.

Frankfurt transfer for moderately vision impaired solo passenger
Hello all, I'm looking for some guidance here...
I have a friend who is traveling home from Europe to the US, transferring from Lufthansa to Condor in Frankfurt. She has moderately impaired vision and has some trouble locating wayfinding signs but has been travelling solo for some time and generally can find her way around eventually. She booked a flight with a 1 hour 40 minute transfer time in Frankfurt. Looking at the arrival and departure boards, I'm pretty sure her flight in will land at concourse A and the Condor flight will depart from C. I'm wondering what this connection entails from a security and passport control standpoint. If this amount of time to transfer is problematic, is it better to try to get assistance from Lufthansa or Condor? I found Lufthansa's "Medical Operation Center" number to set up help for disabled passengers but it's unclear if she can make use of their escorting services as she doesn't have any documentation of vision impairment with her. If she does miss the connection, what is Condor's process from there? I am concerned about the possibility of her missing the flight and then the airline claiming she had time to make it and leaving her stranded. The flight was booked on Condor's website if that makes any difference.
Thanks for having this topic!

Your friend will have three options.
1. To contact LH's Medical Operation Center for assistance
Services for visually impaired passengers
As a blind or visually impaired passenger you do not need to have an assessment of your fitness for air travel. We offer blind or visually impaired passengers the following assistance:
...
Our staff will also be happy to help you when you are leaving the aircraft and at your destination airport. They will accompany you to the airport exit or look after you until your connecting flight. For longer stopovers in Frankfurt or Munich, we have created a Waiting Lounge and will take passengers with a visual impairment to this lounge.

Passengers with Visual or Mobility Impairments
We can generally accept an unlimited number of visually or mobility-impaired passengers travelling with a companion or attendant. For safety reasons, we can only accept a limited number of visually or mobility-impaired persons travelling without a companion or attendant. The actual number of persons depends on the aircraft type. We ask that visually or mobility-impaired persons who wish to travel without a companion or attendant please contact our Special Reservations staff as far in advance as possible.

Their free(?) FraCareServices will have to be arranged through an airline.
https://www.fracareservices.com/english/
I would contact LH and request their service but would also let Condor know about her visual impairment.
Not sure where you checked the departure gates of Condor flights but as far as I know most Condor flights to the US depart from B gates. (Their check-in counters are in departure hall C.) If your friend arrives at an A gate from a Schengen country the best route to B is via the transfer tunnel and passport control at the end of the tunnel. There is no need for security check. If her flight departs from C, she will have to take the Skyline train to C and go through passport control and security.

Thanks for the tips! She's trying the medical hotline; it's not certain she will qualify for that level of assistance though. The guide service may end up being the best option as the main concern is a relative shortage of time to wayfind-if she had 4 hours this wouldn't be an issue. I'm not overly concerned about that verbiage from Condor-she has never told any airline about her vision level beforehand and airlines have let her sit in exit rows after she told them what her vision level is.
I was checking the airport's departure boards to find the concourse and most of Condor's US flights went from C. Good to know it's not always the case though...

Hi, I have an upcoming Trip from JFK to FRA on Singapore Airlines. Then I have to book a separate ticket on either British Airways or Lufthansa from FRA to London. My flight arrives at 10:40 AM at FRA.
What is the minimum time I should allow for a connection either via British Airways or Lufthansa Flight?
Do I have to clear immigration and customs before taking a connecting flight?
Any help is greatly appreciated as this is our first time flying to FRA and also having to get a separate flight to London.
Thank you

I am also connecting in FRA for a flight next month.
My first flight is LH1003 from Amsterdam which is scheduled to arrive at 9:05am.
My connecting flight is LH438 to Dallas which is scheduled to depart at 10:10am, leaving me with a 1h05m connection time.
From the information I got the LH1003 flight will either arrive at an A-gate apron position or directly at an A-gate. LH438 usually leaves from a Z gate.
Would 1h05m be enough to make this connection easily (and for my checked luggage to make it as well)?

SG flight from JFK arrives at a B gate in T1. LH flights to LHR depart also from B gates. You will have to clear transfer security in B but no passport control. BA flights to LHR depart from T2 in FRA. Again you will have to clear security but no passport control as long as you follow the appropriate route (via the Skyline train from the stop for B to T2 D/E).

If your flight from AMS is on time you will be ok but 1h05m is rather tight for connecting to a flight to the US. If you are travelling in C or F there is a priority passport lane from A and Z. Also if you have an EU passport.

Hello:
I hope this is the right thread that I can get some guidance. I get very confused in FRA
Next week I have an LH flight DEN-FRA-JNB with an 11-hour layover in FRA. I want to leave the airport (I have a day use room reserved at the Sheraton because I don't sleep well on flights, even in business class).
Arrives FRA 11:00 a.m. on Sept. 5
Departs FRA to JNB 10:05 p.m. on Sept. 5
My Question: Will LH check-through my bags to JNB from DEN? Or will I have to retrieve them in FRA? I could not find anything on LH's website of their policy. I would prefer to spend more time in the hotel than waiting for baggage claim, etc.
Thanks for any advice.
Arrives FRA 11:00 a.m. on Sept. 5
Departs FRA to JNB 10:05 p.m. on Sept. 5

Apologies if I've missed this / it's already been covered (I tried reading through the wiki pages), but I'm going VIE - FRA - JFK on Thursday, with ~1.5 hour layover. Is there a priority passport control if in J (business) class? All Lufthansa group flights, arriving in FRA in Terminal 1, Gates A, and departing in Gates Z. Thanks in advance!
