Both aren't ideal, but in that case, I would probably prefer FRA over MUC. I wouldn't suggest to book it, though..

One thing to note, IF you are missing your first flight, LH won't rebook you on the later (unless you've booked a fully flexible ticket, or if semi-flex, against a very hefty charge) flight for free.

50min MUC connection NYC-MUC-HER

Hope this is the correct forum.

Thinking of booking a coach award ticket. I have a 50min connection in MUC.

NYC-MUC United
MUC-HER LH
HER-RHO Aegean

Is 50 min. enough time? Checking in luggage.
The award ticket is booked through United. If I miss my connection in MUC are they required to find me another flight? Would I look for a united or LH help desk?

Thank you.

Question Enough Time to Find ATM?

We are US Citizens flying EWR-MUC-ATH with 65 minutes between flights. We are in economy, so assume it will take us at least 10 mins to get off the plane. I understand we will clear immigration in MUC. Any thoughts on whether we will have time to find an ATM and get some Euros before our flight to ATH?

Thanks for the input.

This will be no problem at all. Just clear immigration and follow the signs to Gates G one level down, i.e. Level 4 with Schengen gates. Once you are at level 4 there are at least two ATM in the central area, one ATM just beside the Lufthansa Service Center abeam Gate G28, one ATM can be found between the LH Senator Lounge and the restaurant "4URBS" abeam Gate G24.

T1 - T2, stay airside or go landside and re-clear?

Morning,

Will be connecting at MUC next week, separate tickets, inbound on BA into T1 then outbound on SAA ex T2. Hold a UK passport so no problem with immigrating if that makes life easier, but is there a simple airside connection route? Would I have to re-clear security anyway / how bad is T2 security likely to be at 18-19h on a Monday evening?

thanks

Yes,there is a simple aiside connection. There is a special shuttle bus which connect T1 & T2 every 15min. When deboarding the BA aircraft just follow the signs for the shuttle bus to Terminal 2. You won't have to re-clear security. But only if you are travelling with hand-luggage or your luggage has been checked through ex LHR to JNB.

If you have luggage which can't be checked through ex LHR to JNB you have to collect your luggage and walk to from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, check in at SAA counter an go through security and immigrations.

Security is never bad in Munich @T2

No checked luggage (unless travelling with my wife), but may go landside if everything is on time and the weather is nice for a quick hefeweissbier at the airpub there

thanks

IIRC there is an Airbräu in the non-schengen part of T2 as well.

That is correct. However having a selfbrewed Weißbier at the Airbrau Biergarten between T1 and T2 is something you should not miss out

BHX-MUC-SJJ - Security at MUC?

This will probably be a silly question however I've never connected extra-Schengen to extra-Schengen at MUC hence me wondering: I normally buy some extra liquids after security at BHX before flying to MUC [and onward] because of no security at MUC: will that be still the case when connecting to extra Schengen?

Thanks, as ever.

There's no need to clear security in MUC.
