arrivals lounge at MUC

I understand unlike FRA there is not LH welcome lounge in MUC. I was wondering what options are for shower / shave for a 6AM arrival from BOM before heading to town for a full day of meetings.

Thx.

Just go to the lounge in level H. If anyone asks, show your boarding pass and say you need to go to lounge on arrival.

As the person asking this question appears to be SEN, your answer obviously is correct. However, especially as threads like this are often used by others as well (when they've similar questions) one should add that you can only use the SEN lounges as arrival lounges when you're indeed holding Senator status (or HON status, or travelling First Class).

Being FTL, any other *G than M&M Senator or travelling in Business class will NOT grant you access.

I'm arriving UA EWR-MUC before connecting to LH MUC-BUD so I'll have about 3 hours. Will want to grab a shower, is there one SEN lounge that I should pop into (i.e. non-Schengen before going through passport control)?
Would this be "H" level?

SEN lounges on both H (non-Schengen) and G (Schengen) levels have showers.

1.5 Layover in Munich with Airline change

Hello all,

I am flying IAH-MUC on United followed by MUC-TLV on Lufthansa. Is an hour and a half layover long enough for someone in business class to make the following flight? My bags will go straight to TLV. Is this enough time for me to go to the lounge and relax as well?

You can definitely make the connection. Relaxing is a matter of personal zen attitude. I'd go straight to the gate given the added security. Remember you'll board from F gates.

Well, UA104 IAH-MUC sometimes tends to be late. Out of my last 3 connections in MUC from UA104, the first 2 times I missed the connecting flight (both times about 1:40 minutes for connecting). So the third time I booked a later flight from MUC, and guess what, UA104 arrived 20 minutes early. When the flight is on time, I usually have enough time to stop by the lounge to have a quick breakfast even with a 1:40 connection or so.

If you see your flight is going to be late, make sure you protect yourself on the next flight to TLV while in IAH.

Thanks for your reply!
Since you have experience with the IAH-MUC leg, what seat do you recommend in Business Class? I'm currently booked for seat 1K which is a bulkhead.

We will be arriving MUC on Etihad from ABU and connecting to SPU on Lufthansa with checked bags. It doesn't look like Etihad has an interline agreement with LH. We have 90 minutes to connect, is this enough time given we will have to clear immigration and claim & recheck our bags?

Do you hold one ticket or two tickets,i.e. for each itinerary one separate ticket?

I presume you have separate tickets, since otherwise you wouldn't have to worry about interline agreements.

Munich is a very efficient airport, so 90 minutes should be enough, but bear in mind that it's peak season in the coming months and that you'll have to go through passport control twice. It'll be a very tight connection if a single thing goes wrong.

Next time, just route through BEG on a single ticket

In addition you will have to collect checked bags in T1 and move across to T2. MUC may be an efficient airport for transfer passengers but I was surprised how long it took for checked bags to appear on the carousel if your destination is MUC. According to our resident MUC expert this is because they give priority to bags which need to be transferred to other flights.

Thank you for the info. Yes, it is two separate tickets. My other option is to connect through FRA (same Etihad to LH scenario), but I will have 130 minutes versus 90 minutes. Also there is a later flight from FRA that evening, just in case I miss the connection. Am I correct I am better off routing via FRA?
