Menu in F ex DE to the US much better in Mar/Apr

After the Jan/Feb disaster the F menu ex Germany to the US is much better in Mar/Apr. Good and well balanced choices on the menu followed by a good preparation and excellent taste. ^

I had some king prawns and caviar as a starter, followed by loup de mer as main course. This was even topped by the Asian delight menu before landing. I had corn fed poulard salad followed by a filet of beef with wok fried vegatables and green Thai curry sauce (^, one of the best meals I had in the air).

The wine selection is still ... eh ... limited. In particular the white wines are pathetic. The Franken Riesling can in no way compete with a middle grade Rheingau Riesling or a good Rheinhessen Riesling. And that Austrian white is nothing, but tasteless. So I ended up with the California Monterey Chardonnay, considering this is the best choice on board. Well, I have to admit I forgot to ask about the C white offers.

I finally think, that somelier worldchamp () should be replaced by another person, who has some fresh ideas about wines.

Beef cheeck is actually very western (but you will also find it in Japan). An old-fashioned dish that you still find it in some good restaurants......Very tender and juicy meat and much more tasty and better suited to be reheated in an airplane than the usual "Beef Tenderloin"

Cheers, S

Since it's a daytime flight and arrives at 14:15 local time, the three meals will be lunch, lunch and lunch.

You'd be way more underwhelmed if you knew that this is the exact same menu (as in "exact same") they had last October (2007), recycled. I mean, they didn't even bother to add half a sprig of celery, not just the "star chef". Identical! Now, that's not (First) Classy at all!

The selection looks odd as usual, LH menus in C/F get stranger every day.

But why am I complaining, I'll be in Y on LH 410/411 the next week or the week after next week respectively, so it'll be the question of chicken or pasta. (and at least on the outbound I'll happily say neither after the nice fillet steak in the MUC FCL)

Wow-I hope it taste better than it reads!
Boring-and pretty unimaginative.
I was looking forward to the Goose or Venison that they served for Christmas!

And Dreamers Delight=chili???
Not going to be very delightful to those next to the dreamer

C menu westbound

The Reto Mathis Menu in C has lots of truffles printed on it but not in the dishes themselves:
Appetizers: trockenfleisch on salad bed or exotic prawns
main meal: Geschneltztes mit spätzli
Gebratener lachs or vegetarian pasta
dessert: Chocolate cake or fresh fruit

Wines: Jacquart champagne, a rather decent german Riesling, a reasonable Medoc and a very young strawberry-tasting Spaniard which was reasonable on the way out and horrible on the way back.

By the way, the return flight eastbound did not carry reto mathis´s name...
