Anything she could point Orbitz towards in terms of rebooking on another carrier? Royal Air Maroc would be a good alternative, or KQ-KL.

ETA: SN finally got back to her with something of substance and she's rebooked on AT. Thanks!

Brussels Airport will partially open tomorrow (April 3rd) with just 3 Brussels Airlines flights to Faro, Turin and Athens in the afternoon.

The airport will only be accessible by car or taxi during the first few days of reopening.

I'm wondering when other airlines will start resuming their flights. Especially LH and LX. I have some flights planned upcoming weeks. I find it a bit dissapointing LX simply cancels all flights and doesn't offer any alternatives.

LH offers a free bus from FRA... I find it a bit cheap they don't offer the ICE connection which is much faster and more comfortable...

Just for info I was due to fly BHX BRU GVA today but last night got an email offering me a flight via Frankfurt 24 hours later.

Ended up heading to the airport early today, not a heck of a lot in BHX to justify hanging out here any longer. Handling agent rebooked with no trouble at all. Now flying out two hours earlier than initially planned.

It appears Brussels Airlines will be operating a limited number of flights from BRU tomorrow (4th). There will be flights to/from TXL, BUD, FAO, LIN, NCE (x2), MXP and PRG. Some European flights are operating to/from LGG (Liege) and ANR (Antwerp), while some intercontinental flights are operating via ZRH and FRA.

Starting Saturday 9th of April, SN will only operate from Brussels Airport. Operations at Antwerp and Liège will be halted.
There still will be a restricted schedule, with most European destinations only served once/day instead of 2 or 3 times daily.
Other airlines also returning (LH, KLM, easyjet, ..)
This is very good news for connecting passengers (intra-europe and also US-Europe and Africa-Europe).
Since the bottleneck is check-in and added security when entering the airport, there is enough capacity to accommodate connecting passengers

The new schedule is out (valid till 8APR)
LH has loaded 4x daily A321 flights ex FRA (usual is 10x with a mix of aircraft) and 4x daily E195 ex MUC (usual is 7x)

LX has 2x instead of 5x, OS has none (usual 5x) but 2x from SN to VIE

Brussels Airlines is running a free shuttle service between Zaventem train station and Brussels Airport. The shuttle runs every 10 minutes approximately and stops at level P16, in front of the pre-check-in zone. The last bus will depart at 1 AM.

Any info on when are the non-SN long haul flights resuming? I guess this will take some time as most leave in the morning. When is NH coming back? Their Tokyo departure time is usually pretty quiet in BRU.

BRU flights suspended until 10 April, but they have extra flights between NRT and DUS.

According to Brussels Airport's website:

As from 6 April the bus station will be up and running again. All De Lijn connections will be active.

The De Lijn bus service from Zaventem village station to the airport is free of charge.

The bus station is located on level 0 - one floor down from the arrivals hall.

De Lijn

Bus company De Lijn operates express bus services to railway station Brussels North (line 471), NATO (line 471) and the Brussels underground station Roodebeek (line 659).

Other De Lijn services include services to Mechelen, Leuven and Vilvoorde.
