Brussels Airlines "The Loft" at BRU - Schengen A-Pier lounge

The new Brussels Airlines lounge, called "the loft" will open friday oct 24. It'll be much larger than the old lounge and promises an offer focused on Belgian specialties. I for one hope they dramatically improve the catering offer.

Presentation for Press (and some travel bloggers) today.
First photo's look promising.
Partnership with Microsoft: Lync equipped meeting room + Surface Tablets on loan.
Some pictures from Twitter #theloftbru

I will be there end of next week, so somebody will beat me with a first report.

Some more details on the new "The Loft" lounge in the A-pier (Shengen zone):
- four "nap boxes" for sleeping
- showers (yay!)
more pictures (from Twitter):

Travelmagic.be has posted a nice sequence of pictures:
https://travelmagic.be/brussels-airl...e-lounge-loft/

The layout:

I don't recall the old lounge being this big. Where did they find the space?

I agree- there was the two large corridors though that were pretty much wasted space- perhaps they took them both and incorporated them into the lounge? That would seem to be what they have done by the look of the diagrams. Looks like BRU lounge complex has significantly improved!

A little too Microsoft-centric for my taste, but it looks very good. Hopefully the furniture is not only shiny but of good quality too. I'd hate it to go shabby in just a few weeks.

Isn't the new lounge extending into the newly built link building or the "connector" at BRU?

It's not using the "connector" (that just has a roof on). Seems they've merged the old SN lounge + the Diamond lounge (+ maybe some office space), creating a large space with windows on both sides.

SN press release also loaded on their website.

Didn't they promise a separate SEN area? Or was I only led to believe that. Nothing from the map posted here.

I am at least glad the dump, also known as the temporary lounge, will now be closed. Not a seat to be found yesterday, as always.

Who can access the Loft? Is it the regular *A access rules, or is it exclusively for SEN/HON/Business/First?

it's a *A lounge so normal rules apply.
M&M FTL also get access when flying on LH, SN, OS, LX and other members of the group.
When flying SN Flex&Fast (flexible economy, shorthaul) or Economy+ (longhaul) , you can buy access for €25.

In the very press release you linked to it reads that the meeting rooms are for SEN/HON only.

Area 12 on the map is reserved for SEN/HON members.

I don't need a meeting room at the airport (airside) that often, but it is a nice gesture indeed. Wonder how long it will take before this is enhanced away due to lack of demand...
