A380, for sure
Less cramped cabin, more personal space and more privacy

I'd go for the A380. More comfortable flight overall.

And the 747-8i cabin is cramped? Seriously? 2A on the 74H feels more private than 2A in the A380 if that's a factor.

Well, my sample size on the 748 is only 1, and I was in 3K with a full cabin. And I had great flights on both the 744 and A380 earlier in that trip

I find 744 > A380 > A330 New F > 748

(Haven't flown LH's A340)

My ranking is
1. 380 (quiet, relatively good privacy, bathrooms, not much traffic in the aisle)
2. 747 (noisier, more people walking thru, but much more space, very comfortable seat and great bed)
3. 748 (would avoid row 3, seats are too close to each other, row 1 and 2 are good)
4. 3x0 (still too many around with old seats, lots of traffic in the aisle)

I wasn't complaining -- I was trying to answer the OP's question

And yes, they're both great -- so it's a bit like saying do you prefer Dom or Krug

Nonetheless, the point of FT is for people to share opinions on stuff like this and give the pros and cons, and that's what I did

Nope ... it is like saying that you suffer less when drinking Don than if you have to put up with Krug. You chose the derogative adjective after all.

True. And this is what I did.

In past 2 months flied 2 times on LH A380 F and 3 times on LH B748 F.

I prefer A380.

Anyway, LH B744 F is the best (due separate bed and chair)

prefer a380 for less noisy cabin, better climate and bigger bathrooms.
But the differences are minimal.

You had better hurry while D-ABTF and D-ABTH are still in service as they are the only 744s with 83A. Or you might just want to reserve the bed next to 83C on retrofitted 744s.

Since the OP is asking about A380 and 747-8i, my preference is the A380 if travelling alone (1A is my favourite seat, followed by 1K, 2A and 2K), but if travelling with a companion I might opt for 1A/1K on the 747-8i. You will both get a window seat with aisle access and the seats are close enough for casual conversation.
