This morning ARD/ZDF talked to their reporter on board and the LH Captain. It seemed due the melee around the aircraft in GIG the luggage cart bumped into the side of the 748 which required additional checks, delaying the departure by two hours.

"Siegerflieger"... really, I would have thought more something like "Score, Win, Champion".

LH is on their way to being a five star airline.
They just got upgraded from 3 stars to 4 stars temporarily.
If the team wins the next tournament in Russia in four years, perhaps LH can get the 5th star.
Apart from that I see no chance...

Most of the players were probably too busy playing footsie with their significant others in C ;-)

I saw the video of it making a low flyover over the Fanmeile. That was cool.

Haha last night here in Berlin my friends asked me how many F seats a plane like that has as they were wondering who got them. I said in J they also have pretty nice seats.

Perhaps the team can use BER to arrive for the next title...on average that means BER needs to be finished within about 20 years ... or maybe they can put Jogi Lw in charge of the BER project to finally get the job done...

Surprised TXL is allowed to land a full loaded 748.

I doubt they had any cargo nor were near any MTOW after such a long flight. That said TXL is fully functional and can even take a A380. The terminal is not able to handle such VLAs though.
