LUFTHANSA Fleet Retirement Registry (LH/OS/SN/LX/Cargo)

With fleet retirement beginning to ramp up, I though it may be a good use of space to have a dedicated thread to track aircraft as they are removed from the fleet.

Starting with:

LH Cargo MD-11 D-ALCO on 22 January (flying to TUL Technik today).

Quite a few old friends here from my PHL-running days... <sniffle>

What kind of equipment does PHL get when last of the ancient 343s are gone...or does the PHL route go out with them...?

I'm sure LHFlyer can organise a date for you in TUP with LHT so you can swing a sledgehammer... PHL will get 2 class 343s with new C.

Nah, I couldn't bring myself to do it (torturing an innocent airframe like that)..

New C will be a nice upgrade...(so I've heard )...

I'll be there on 4/5 February and will see what we can and can't do as 'fans'. My understanding is that they are not geared for much exposure to the public. Hoping I can bring home a vertical stabilizer and test UA's oversized luggage policy. Especially when the stab is bigger than the ERJ.....

well, you could mount it on top of the fuselage to test the extra stiability it would provide...

May I suggest that people add the aircraft type beside the registration for those less well versed? Just a thought for ease of future navigation...
