Question advice sought (YYZ-VIE)

I just flew FRA-YYZ on LH. I encountered two problems:

- FRA is a zoo. Crowded, long lines @ passport control, # delays, need to take buses to reach aircraft. I was under the impression these issues were being addressed but IMO FRA is still dreadful!
- Traveling in J, LH replaced Airbus with a 747-400. Old aircraft, noisy, washrooms are horrible, and (again) flight was delayed.

Now planning for next summer in Y. Are the alternatives better? i.e.
- VIE-YYZ on Austrian (767 is scheduled);
- MUC-YYZ?

I definitely prefer OS in C over LH, I'm afraid in Y the difference is not that much. OS 767 have had their interiors refurbished relatively recently, so definitely better than LH 744, catering probably better than LH but that is a personal preference.
What is way more pleasant than FRA is VIE, but that is MUC, too, and probably even more so.

Seriously - what's the deal with the 748s??

BOM had it removed and was flying 744s this whole summer - now they are putting it back on in October I think... (At least when I'm traveling - not sure of exactly when)

Are they simply rotating them around - or what is the plan of attack??

First class only on some dates - seems pointless, really!

I am certain that somebody in ops management has done a year long study, wrote a detailed report, send it upwards and somebody who has never seen a customer in the last five years took out a coin and chose where the aircraft goes. 😏

That's a good way to describe global airline management today.

MUC-HKG is A359 now but it shows as A380 for next summer. Is that the plan, or the A359 hasn’t been loaded that far out in the schedule yet?

Middle East Routing changes (no DOH, adding KWI-BAH)

Per Airlineroute.net Lufthansa will route their BAH service through KWI instead of DMM going forward.

http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/...uting-changes/

Anyone knows if they have 5th freedom rights on this sector?
