LH FRA-BOS Economy 744 or 343
Hello,
My first (or so) post here I hope it is in the right place.
I will fly IST-BOS via FRA on August 1, 2012. Normally i would take LH422 at 12:40 which uses a B747-400 because it arrives relatively early but i read that this plane is particularly unpleasant due to cramped seats and lack of IFE. Now I am considering taking LH420 which uses a A340-300 and apparently promises a better flight experience. I am 1.95m tall so leg room is important for me though I am not sure how relevant this is in Y cabin. I also read that LH refurbished its 747 fleet with new seats and IFE but i could not find a recent report that tells about this.
So my questions are, how likely is it for me to get a refurbished 747 on LH422, and what would be your choice if you were in my position?

It's about 1 in 3 chance of refurbished 747 with IFE. It's also a possibility that the later flight will be swapped for a 747, so you can't be 100% sure. Only way to avoid the plane is to connect through MUC or ZRH.
