They ask you not to use VoIP, so I didn't try, so I can't comment whether it's blocked or not.

You can always use something like http://portquiz.net/ to test ports once in the air.

You can use 24 hours or 7,500 miles, I believe. Doesn't matter how many flights.

VPN will likely work fine. I don't remember much of my flight (thanks, good food and wine, hehe), but ssh, openVPN and Remote Desktop all worked fine.

Incidentally, the speed is not awful. I benchmarked 4Mbps at one point! But definitely, if you're VPNing, expect it to be SLOW.

Thanks. At least they've acknowledged there is a problem. I'm looking forward to trying the trick in a few weeks.

Not unless you are doing a turnaround. It will have to be consecutive 24 hours from the time you log in.

I'm flying an LH A380 later today. How can I find out what tail number it has? I'd like to know whether it has WiFi.

According to the Wiki, the following tail numbers have WiFi:
D-AIMC
D-AIMK
D-AIML

FRA-IAH. I know it is listed as one of the routes with WiFi, but still would be nice to know whether the specific flight is still scheduled to be with that tail number.

Is there any way to find out what the tail number is scheduled to be?

According to Frankfurt Airport's website it will be D-AIMK. Search on their flight departure page and click on the flight number.

NewbieRunner, thank you! You have been most helpful! Looks like I will have WiFi.

Do we know other routes LH usually flies one of their WiFi-enabled A380s?
