Logged into Flynet last week on 747-8. Worked well, and was charged. Purser told me it was free last month due to issues with Panasonic? I flew last month and it was unusable. Happy it is back and functionally practical.

A software patch did not work consistently so they made Flynet free since coverage wasn't guaranteed.

Just flying MUC-SFO on A346.
There was 2/3 chance of FlyNet, as I knew there will be old First on the plane.
However it is flown by D-AIHH which is based in FRA according to http://klarhorst.com/Liste.htm
Anyway, FlyNet is here!

I'm currently on LH430 and I can connect to wifi, but it seems that any SSL encrypted site is being blocked (Google, Twitter, my VPN, corp email, etc), rendering it basically useless. I can't imagine this is policy. Any ideas?

LH Wifi?
Flew LH492 last week, FRA to VCR.
Supposedly Wifi was available on the plane and would be available throughout most of the flight (at cruising altitude).
But it wasn't available.
Curious what the speeds and latency are like. Anyone try it?
Might have been worth trying out for 20 Euro for 24-hour period, or the entirety of a TATL segment, unless the speed was so bad that you couldn't stream video.
