Correct- as I noted above in posts #1449 and #1451 the vouchers are a good deal for a straightforward ticket on LX such as VCE or MXP/ZRH- something you can book easily yourself on line and in this way save 55 EUR (300-245).

Wow, a whopping 5€. Even OPC costs more than that.

Well, I pay it quite often. I sometimes don't keep enough money on my German account to pay a series of airlines tickets (so am a bit cautious about using direct Bank Einzug), preferring to use one of my credit cards linked to accounts in other countries, and I am not a fan of paypal. Plus, I quite like the additional insurances provided by some of the credit cards (that's bailed me out more than once in the past).

What is OPC? Checked the glossary but couldn't find it there.

IIRC Credit card charges - in the spanish LH and LX webpages they add 7,5 euros when you choose to pay by credit card.

I think it stands for Optional Payment Charge. Really annoying, and just another excuse to suck more money out of you. Like I say, the various insurances that some credit cards offer are what keep me paying it.

Start your quest for booking a LH ticket at LH-usa.com without logging in and be surprised at the end of the booking process

At the end of the day, what is the conclusion? You select the US as your home country and then there are no charges applied?

I never paid these anyway, at least not explicitly (they surely include them somewhere in the fare).

Er, well I think so, I haven't actually bought a ticket yet (that's quite a rare occurrence with LH these days). Wonder if it will work in the end with a European CC.
