They had 10€ vouchers before but they have become totally useless now with the raised "optional payment charge"...

I've seen various amounts between 5 to 40€ in Germany and 50-200$ in the US. Initially the 'vouchers' in Germany were to offset the TSC, now it seems to include the OPC. Considering the economic situation and booking numbers, I'm sure we will see many more promos in the next month. My bet is a few campaigns to convince people to book when they are sitting around at home over xmas. The next wave after that should be in late winter, when many Germans book their beach vacation. LH is already running the 99€ to EU campaign almost every week.

They seem to succeed. While I am Aachen based and often have to travel to ZWS (Stuttgart) for work, taking the train is the best option (106 EUR return in 2nd class with B/C in about 2:50 h oneway). However, thanks to the vouchers, I have done several flights this year on the DUS - STR route, although the total time enroute increases to about 5 hours (including a safey buffer for the train feeder to DUS), not to mention the carbon dioxide emissions .

As an FTL, this becomes even more attractive, as I can use flights departing later than the last acceptable train connection. However, I wouldn't do that if the flight was not cheaper than the train option. So, keep the vouchers coming
