I flew Lufthansa 'P' business class from Munich to LAX in January. Air NZ informed me that 'P' class was not on their list of classes that earn Airpoints. Does 'P' business class earn points in Lufthansa Miles and More?

Yes, longhaul P class earns 100% of the miles flown.

Yes. P is a promotional business class fare and LH does not like to pay too much money for FFP accrual. P does not earn anything in many other programs. The Airpoints earning chart is pretty clear.
P is the lowest earning business class fare. The others (Z, D, C, J) earn more (150% and up in M&M), but of course it depends from FFP to FFP.
Our other LH longhaul flights on the same booking had good earn rates. Is a 100% earn rate high or low compared to other classes?
