Terminal 6 @ LAX? Pros and cons?
I've been on the LAX-IAD redeye a few times recently...all of which have left from Terminal 6, which is really an odd bird of a terminal. IMHO, T6 is the red-headed stepchild of the south side of LAX. CO has their home there, and then DL and UA use it as spillover.
I find it hard to believe that UA has so many red-eyes that they need two terminals. 7 is way better for many reasons:
1) RCC, if UA were to put one in T6, that would be a major win.
2) Shorter walk. I'm in good shape, but this is just annoying in general.
3) Way more food/bar selections. We all have a Cinnabon craving every now and then, but it doesn't make for a great dinner.
If someone from UAL reads this post and moves it up the chain, that would make many people happier with their UA experience @ LAX! ^

While T-6 is the 'cave' in the stone age, at least there is not the omnipresent waft of eu de McDonalds permeating the air as in T-7.

T7 only has McDonald's, La Salsa, that grossly overpriced bar, and Wolfgang Puck's for food -- not exactly a huge selection. At least T6 has that RB Microbrew place, the deli, the sportsbar...and Ruby's.
Granted, the brown tile and 70s feel is a little bit drab...but I don't think T7 is anything to write home about.
And a RCC in T6...keep on dreamin'!

I kinda like Terminal 6 because it looks like the LAX of my childhood.
And yes, that McDonald's smell is truly obnoxious.

I don't like leaving from T6 but I do like landing there. It is way closer to the only Red Shuttle stop if I decide to use the Parking Spot but it is also right next to where I park my car in the LAX garage (I park as close to the T6 cross walk in the garage as I can since that is where I check in and that is where the Premier lines are located). So don't knock T6 totally.
auh2o knows LAX!
