Closest Airport to CS Fullerton

What airport allows for the easiest access to/from CS Fullerton? The university's website is a little fuzzy about which airport is best.

"The campus is located within 40 miles of three major airports (LAX to the West, Ontario to the Northeast and Orange County/John Wayne to the South). The campus is located immediately adjacent to the Orange (57) Freeway, which is accessible from most major Southern California freeways..."

Thanks!

definitely SNA - Orange County, CA

Hi - The closest airport to Cal State Fullerton is definitely Orange County Airport (SNA). It's probably a 25 minute drive in no traffic. From SNA, take 55 north to 91 west to 57 north and exit State College.

The second closest airport to CS Fullerton is Ontario, and Long Beach is perhaps a bit farther.

LAX is fourth closest - a 50 minute drive in no traffic, but 1.5 hours if there's traffic.

Rand Mcnally driving distance site charts SNA to CSUF at 18 miles:

LAX was 36 miles, LGB was 21 miles, ONT was 29 miles, and BUR was 44 miles

LGB is the closest and by far the most convenient. Small airport, pick up your rental car literally across the street, a few miles up Lakewood Blvd and then a straight shot down CA-91 to State College Blvd. SNA is your next best bet. Beyond that, ONT or LAX are distant thirds. (Fullerton native-- but it's been a while since I've driven through on a non-holiday or weekend, so won't make predictions about traffic).

Thumbs up

Thanks folks. So it sounds like either SNA or LGB are legitimate options.
