Some reports suggested Terminal 4 was being evacuated, and people on Twitter were posting pictures of travelers on the ground as police roamed the area, but officials could not confirm with NBC4 specific details as to what was happening.

We arrived 30 minutes early at LAX last night and got to 300 feet from our gate (47A) - pilot said "we got you here early - our gate is available - but the terminal is evacuated". About 90 minutes later we pulled in 55 minutes late (could have been worse). Both T4 and T5 were evacuated as the loud noise of the van crash at T5 caused someone to call in saying they heard shots at T4 ... at that point there was really no other choice for the LAX police.
