Smile Smoking rooms in hotels near Pasadena?

Hi guys,

I am looking for a hotel room for my in-laws, who are traveling a LONG way to L.A., and it seems impossible to book a smoking room in any decent hotel. It's a stressful trip for them, so I don't want to add the headache of a smoking ban. (I hate smoke and anything having to do with cigarettes myself, but everyone has faults, and it's not my job to tell them how to live their lives).

So, I guess I'm trying to figure out a work-around. Are there hotels with balconies that they could smoke on? I found the Langham Huntington Hotel, but not sure if it's allowed to smoke on the balcony...

Does anyone have any experience with being allowed to smoke in hotels in that area recently?

Thanks in advance!!!

I've never actually sought out smoking rooms in the area, but I remember from college (it's been a while at this point, granted) that the Arcadia area (relatively close to the racetrack) seemed to have more accomodations that had that as a choice. YMMV, since it's been a long time since I've been there and California has an institutional antipathy to the smoking habit, but it might be worth a try ...
