How do you book a LATAM Stopover?

Went online in US to book RT MEX-IPC. This routing has a change of plane in SCL both on the inbound and outbound. I want to spend a 5-6 day stopover in Sataigo.

Before the payment screen there is a "details link". In that it shows that one "free" stopover is allowed on the MEX-IPC and the IPC-MEX segments.

How do I book to include a stop-over? If I book "multi-destination" (MEX SCL IPC outbound, then ICP-MEX return, the fare goes up by $1,200!

I've tried calling customer service with no luck. Should I book The entire MEX/IPC r/t and then call to make a change within 24 hours? I'd hate to end up on Easter Island for a full 2 weeks.

I would reserve the ticket (you might have to create a LATAM account to be able to do it) and then call the call center with reservation no in hand. Should make the process easier.
