Dec 12, 2022They closed the diamond lounge in ballys and merged the operation into one lounge for both casinos. Everytime I stopped in there (particularly) on a saturday night, the place was packed and there was a long waiting line to get in. On 5/17/08, I was surprised to see the lounge about 1/4 full.
Why? Previously they had salads, sandwiches, cheese, fresh fruit (hot food for a few hours in the evening) + desert + alcoholic beverages. The food was replaced by pretzels, potato chips, corn chips and some dips.
I asked the door monitor about this when I left, he claimed "the new owners changed things." [I was under the impression that the new buyout of harrahs would NOT alter harrahs running of casino operations...]
I didn't get a chance to see if major changes in caesars palace diamond lounge have occured (anyone know?)
Two weeks ago in harrahs showboat and caesars diamond lounge there was no change--i'll be in ac this weekend and see if anything has changed (for the worse

AC is still safe. 
But Diamond Lounges in Vegas have been decimated (for the last few months); they also cut back on hours.
Just got back from AC, and the AC lounges still have decent hours and all of the food as previous.
Problem, was that the lines were incredible. I was there 3 nights, and didn't go once.
Solution (thank goodness), is that Harrah's has finally coded me as LFB; so I had unlimited food (with limitations) and beverage for the weekend. I would have gone to the lounge out of convenience, but I refuse to wait to get in. And, it's personally nicer to just sit at one of the bars (such as the sapphire bar) and relax having drinks; added plus is that the selection of premiums is better.

Caesars in ac's diamond lounge is generally not as busy as ballys or showboat; i haven't gone to harrahs so i can't say how busy that one is.Originally Posted by baccarat_king

Sometimes when I stay at harrahs casinos in ac, I am charged the $11 room fee and other times i'm not. (They tack on a charge of their own, which is not mandated by state regulations.)
I feel embarassed, but I think those times that i was not charged the $11 fee at check in they said i was coded as "lfb", but didn't know (exactly) what that meant! Consequently, i never made use of the features you describe.

I was at Paris a few weeks ago and was wondering why there was this long line and found it was for the Diamond Lounge. Not a Diamond myself so I do not know what all the fuss was about other than them having a full bar. The hours, at least for the afternoon and evening was only 4 to 9 pm. The Gold Lounge at Venetian is at least open all day.

Can I ask, why wouldn't you make use of the features?
Personally, I rather eat in a sit down restaurant, or go to a less crowded bar --- than deal with a crowded Diamond Lounge.
Though, I do admit, I love the views from both the Caesars AC and Bally's AC Diamond Lounge.
These benefits are so valuable; as it further reduces the house's edge (if you put a dollar value on the bennies).
If you play SLOTS then you should absolutely be taking advantage of them, as you need to reap as MANY benefits as physically possible during the course of a trip.

The other nice thing, is that most of the Diamond Lounges do have a "bar" that a person alone can sit at, instead of a table; which is an advantage (among other things) over the Venetian lounge.
Too bad, they cut back the hours so much in Vegas (for the Diamond Lounges); at least AC is open from 2PM, and till 12-midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

I probably should know this, but what is the difference between RFB and LFB? We are RFB. I thought it was going to be this wonderful set up where we ate, drank and had a merry time and we just had to play. That is what we have done, however our reward credits are constantly charged for our activities. Ultimately, I dont see any difference with being RFB and not if they simply deduct from your rewards account in both situations.

^RFB : Room, Food, Beverage: which is "basically" any restaurant, bar, and room service will be covered. Of course, there are some exceptions; possibly a non-casino managed restaurant. The individual properties will be able to tell you if there are any exclusions.
LFB : Limited, Food, Beverage: the limited meaning that you are limited to only certain (usually non-gourmet) restaurants, and sometimes no room service. Once again, varies property to property.
Now, the issue with the reward credits is a common pitfall for guest with LFB and RFB (at Harrah's), and "should" have been explained by your host.
Harrah's will apply any charges to your RCs (reward credits) first; so basically, you are paying using your reward credits. Once you hit zero reward credits, then they will pick up the charges NOT using your credits. Of course, any credits you earn while playing during the trip will also be used, but there is often a lag of them being credited, so this works to your benefit (especially with table games).
So, how do you get the most from LFB and RFB at Harrah's --- have your RCs as close to zero as possible when you check into the property. One idea might be to have Harrah's Passport travel use the credits to book your airfare. Or, prepay for spa services using your credits. Maybe by some shopping gift cards with your credits (such as the Forum or Pier Shops) --- though, you do get less of a value for them by doing this.
Of course, if you have banked $100's or $1000's in RCs; this is going to be quite difficult, and in that case, RFB or LFB is not really going to get you very much, since you'll just be using your credits.

It helps alot. I always leave with very few rewards points. I only have 30 now! I had always wondered what would have happened if I hit 0. Would they want me to pay or not. Now I know! (My wife does love the Pier Shops.) We have been getting a lot of offers lately that include credit for airline tickets to LAS or Reno. However, a recent offer had us flying from BWI-ACY. Its almost faster to drive than deal with airport hassles.

I did BOS-ACY this past weekend, and it was an absolute pleasure. I agree, BWI-ACY is totally crazy. Heck, I know of some folks who use BWI instead of PHL when going to AC (if they can't fly into ACY). Imagine getting stuck on the runway at BWI for an hour in a holding pattern (for such a short flight); I'd go out of my mind.

Ugh, every time I think about heading back to Harrah's, I find out something else that annoys me. I have 129k in Total Rewards points and am definitely in the "burn" phase. Now, if only I could find something to burn them on...

Now, how do we convince kaukau to just make one non-Vegas trip, and come to AC instead. Hmmmm.... might just have to burn some miles to "guarantee" his involvement.
