Baggage lockers in LAS?

I'm passing through LAS for a few overnight hours (late night incoming flight, early morning outgoing flight) and thought I'd spend them hopping from casino to casino.

But I don't want to carry around my carry-on backpack, with my laptop and work stuff. Are there lockers in the airport, or some other system to just keep my backpack at the airport? Any suggestions? (I don't want to check my backpack because of the laptop.)

Thanks.

You might consider checking it with the bellman at the first casino you hit, and retrieving it just prior to heading back to LAS.

I looked at the McCarran Airport website, and wouldn't you know, there's the answer to my question:

http://www.mccarran.com/services.asp#

(click on Lockers)

There are lockers in the secure area ... which is perfect.

Excellent! My brother and sister-in-law just passed through LAS two weeks ago with the same intentions as yourself, and informed me that, try as they might, they couldn't find any place to store their stuff for a quick trip to the strip. But I believe they were already outside the "sterile area".

Good luck!

Why not just give the bellman a buck a bag to check your bags at the first casino/hotel you visit in Vegas. Give him another buck a bag when you pick up. Looks way cheaper than what is being quoted for the airport lockers, even assuming you can find them. $8 a day per bag seems like insanity to me.

FYI - I didn't look closely at the signs, but I think the rates were $2/hour for a standard size and $3/hour for a much larger locker. It looked like there were only a couple large ones available, though, and their lights were out, presumably indicating that they were in demand and rented.

$8 would buy me peace of mind, especially if we're talking about my laptop and work-related papers.

From the McCarran website it seems like these locker kiosks are all over the airport.

Puzzled as to why the airport lockers would bring more piece of mind at an airport than at the hotel, but whatever. Some people aren't happy unless they pay the maximum. and I guess that's what keeps the lights on.

OP mentions "hopping from casino to casino" --- so, it is probably best to just leave everything at the airport, even if at higher cost. I would sure hate to have left my bag @ Mandalay Bay, and then realize I'm running late (to get back to the airport) @ Wynn.... and have to make a stop back to Mandalay to retrieve my bag. Of course, you could "re-check" with the bell desk at each hotel [hop]; but that seems to be much more complicated than just leaving everything at LAS.

Wirelessly posted (probably driving while typing: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D060; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)

might be cheaper just to rent a car and forego all the drama.

drama? but, FT would not be very entertaining if there wasn't a good dose of drama.

Of course, renting a car requires one be sober enough (or at least sober as required by the state of Nevada) to drive the vehicle back to the airport. IMO, a night (or a few hours) wandering around Vegas casinos would not be as much fun without a few [or, preferably many] adult beverages.

I have done what the OP is asking about many times. The lockers are easy to find (at least when coming in on US), I never paid more than $10-$15 for up to ten hrs. or so. It is easier than dragging the bags around, even if you do the bellman route, you have to take them in the cab with you, then worry about making it back to the original haotel, as was stated. In fact I am doing the same thing in April again, I enjoy the planned long layovers in LAS coming from PHL to SAN.
