Best breakfast in Vegas (hands-down), possibly in the country.

Before 10/11AM outside patio is fine (even in the summer); was just out there a few days ago. But, I often do 8AM or 9AM Canyon Ranch Yoga (and yes, even after gaming until 3AM.....), so I'm awake rather early (also the east coast time issue for my body....)

Last question - how much should a taxi from the airport cost? Thanks.
Last time I was in Vegas, I had a taxi cost about $20-$25 from the aiport to the Encore, so I believe it will be about the same for you.

Additional people in Venetian suites

Hi, I was wondering how many extra people can be accommodated in a room for no extra charges at Venetian? We are a group of friends and want to stay there (but cut costs at the same time). We are thinking of 6 in one room, at the moment. Would it be possible? What are some hidden charges we should be wary of?

The maximum number of adult guests allowed in a Venetian suite is 4. If you are intending to try and sneak around this rule, remember, the management isn't stupid. Aside from the fact that you could be summarily evicted without a
refund at any time, you'll only get sleeping space for four (two beds and a sofabed).

Maybe you should stay someplace less expensive.

Its so easy to skirt the rules on this though. I have been to vegas almost two dozen times and many times we did 4-7 in a room no problem and I tell the hotel every time there are only 2. Just ask for only 2 keys at checkin and dont have your friends sit around you while you are checking in.

All my friends never minded sleeping on the floor, but I always get a bed because I book the room and I would not sleep on the floors. I just got back from Vegas yesterday and we did 7 total in our room with two beds.

Also, just ask for extra towels from the maids in the morning then switch them out in person each day with the maids and leave the DND sign on the door. Throwing five bucks to the maid each morning also will make their day.

The Venetian is the best place in Vegas to do this - or actually the Palazzo is even better because they have more rooms with sofa beds.

The rooms with two beds comfortable accommodate 7 people as long as you're cool with sharing beds, and really this is the only single room in Vegas that does that. If you don't get a room with a sofa bed then this goes down to 6.

At Palazzo you get two queen beds, a full-size sofa bed plus space for one more on the L part of the couch next to the sofa bed. It really works! Plus I wouldn't feel so bad about lying about the number of people as V/P charges extra already for rooms with two beds.

Also you can feel out your check-in host and if they seem cool, $20 buys as many extra keys as you need.

hidden? besides $35/person past 2?

Depends on you guys really. I mean we put up to 16 people into 3 rooms...because we had guys coming late, leaving early from the trip, or we just plain didn't want to spend the money?!?

I swear, I don't know how it happens, and why people don't stay in their own rooms. But I know a couple nights the room breakdown was like 1-6-9. 3 guys on a bed, someone on the sofa, someone passed out on the floor. I'm sure someone passed out in the bathroom.

just tip your maids well for towels, and I she won't say anything. And don't be stupid about it - you have neighbors...i'm sure they'd hear a ton of people in a room

Hi all

I am staying at the Venetian next month and am booked into a Bella Queen suite. I'm meeting some friends there on a separate booking and having emailed the hotel asking if we can have adjoining rooms or rooms on the same floor it would appear that my friends are booked into the Venezia Tower with me in the main hotel. Does anyone have any idea of whether this kind of thing could be changed at check in and that they could be moved to the main hotel or vice versa? I can't even see an option for booking a Venezia suite on their website so not sure how their TA managed to get them in there.

If this won't be possible can anyone give any indication of how far apart the areas are for us meeting up? We fit young people so will be able to walk at a decent pace!

Also, (sorry another thing) I've been reading about the $20 check in trick, are there any threads related to this anywhere on FT? Did a quick search and couldn't find any. I've been to Vegas before but haven't ever tried this and would be nervous to!

Thanks in advance for any help.

The Venezia Tower has a separate set of elevators (you actually have to take two elevators to get up from the casino floor). It is not close to the main tower. I happen to like the Venezia Tower, even though it's more of a walk. You can always call the hotel or ask a check-in.

The $20 trick works perfectly well at the Venetian -- you'll get a higher floor and/or better view. I fold the $20 and put it between my license and credit card, and just hand the "sandwich" to the check-in person.

Thanks PTravel. I've already contacted the hotel about the bookings and this is how I found out my friends TA had booked them in the Venezia. Seems like they can't help us at this time as neither of us booked directly with the hotel and they've advised us to contact the respective agencies. If we can't sort it in advance we can try at check in but I'm not sure if there is any price difference between the two which might cause a potential problem.
