Late Checkout - Vegas

I was staying at Bally's late December and the night before I was due to checkout, I went to the front desk and handed them a 20$ while simultaneously asking them if this would cover late check-out.

The man, who seemed new, immediately responded that they do not offer late check-out and said he could not offer late check-out and that they were all sold out for tomorrow.

I was ticked. I went on the internet and saw tons of rooms available for 39$ the night...

Does late check-out indeed exist at Bally's? Did I get rick-rolled by the newbie?

Why not just book the next night for $39 and be done with it?

Because I used the $20 trick to get upgraded to a suite which has a $300 per night price. If I did book the 39$ a room rate, it's another 25$ in resort fees and worst of all, I'd have to pack and change rooms before the 11AM check-out time.

It seems you answered your own question. The suite was booked the next day. Move on and book the room you want in the future and stick with it. The $20 "trick" is being highly looked at with many casino companies in Las Vegas. Some employees are being fired for accepting it. Pony up for what you want. You want a late check-out on a suite? Good luck on that, when the suites were booked the next day. Go hit the $1 menu at McDonalds at 11am and save even more (when you get the boot from your Suite).

It seems you want it both ways. The $20 "trick" might have worked this time, but do not expect it in the future. That employee that gave you the $20 sandwich trick risked their job for you, by pure theft from the hotel/casino.

Exactly. I was going to say, you got a suite for an additional $20 and you're ticked because you couldn't keep it for a late check-out? Wow.

To be accurate, OP appears to be miffed that the FD agent didn't even bother checking if there was actually any availability and possibly lied about the hotel's occupancy.

Thanks gengar. The 20$ trick of getting the suite had nothing to do with my original question. I was just explaining as to why I didn't book the 39$ room the following night.

I was wondering if it is normal that late checkout is not granted at Bally's...

My general experience with Caesars properties (in LV and Reno/Tahoe) is I can get it but they usually won't do it the night before and tell me to ask in the morning. I imagine it depends on how many rooms are occupied the next day, what room type you're in, and status/how much they value your play. I'm also dealing with a host or the Diamond/7* desk and they probably have more latitude than the front desk.

I agree that how you got the suite isn't relevant to your question, since it sounds like the guy brushed you off before looking anything up (which I would have found curious/annoying as well). On the other hand asking for a late checkout on top of the $20 upgrade is kinda tacky if you ask me.

Most hotels are willing to allow late c/o's if you pay the fees. I know most MGM properties want 50% of that day's daily rate if you check out before 4PM or 100% of that day's daily rate if you check out after 4PM. Waived for those with late c/o's via FHR or casino hosts.

Most of my CET offers are for 5 nights (comped), I normally stay ONLY 3--so if I need a "late check-out" I book 4 nights.

From my experience, Vegas hotels are very stingy with late checkout. A few times I've requested, I was granted noon?

They seem to be much more open to early check-in.

It depends on your play. A casino host can work wonders on early or late check out.

I'm confused. This hotel sells late check out for $20 but didn't on this occasion because it was full. Is that the essence of it?

By the way, any good tips on finding a good host? I assume, the choice of host should be from the hotel I game at the most?

Thanks!
