Planet Hollywood or New York New York

Visiting Las Vegas for the LVI rugby tournament and the Rugby 7s in February and am currently stuck between Planet Hollywood or New York New York as a place to stay.

They will be 3 guys, in two rooms and were all in our 20s. Any thoughts about these two (or even Monte Carlo) for us? Being younger people our Budget isn't enormous but we've found decent deals for these two strip hotels and we won't be spending much time in our room but do want somewhere decent as we will be wrecked from all the rugby!

Thanks

The base rooms at PH will be a little nicer than NYNY or MC IMO. Probably just a bit larger than NYNY, but the big difference will be the separate shower and tub. The PH casino and environs trend a little younger. A little closer to center strip. Oh, and no resort fee at PH, which both NYNY and MC have. No contest in my mind....

Go with Planet Hollywood. No resort fees, better standard rooms, better location, and Earls of Sandwich. Also, much hotter girls.

Cyber Monday deal as well at www.mycheapvegas.com to help you save a bit of money. Pretty sure if you take resort fees into account, PH would be cheaper at the end.

Planet Hollywood is the nicer hotel, but the parking (especially valet) is terrible. If you are doing a lot of in-out (or even in-n-out) i'd take that into consideration. NYNY is the easiest to get in/out with entrances on three roads.

Rooms are decent at NYNY but you have to add in the resort fee. PH wont have that.

Thanks everyone for their feedback.

Have decided with PH - after getting one of their Hollywood Hip rooms on sale. No car so shouldn't have issues with parking..etc

Looking forward to hitting it up

OMG! Planet Hollywood hands down my friend!!!

Especially for a group of guys!?!? YES!

On the casino floor there is a place called the "Pleasure Pit". They are tables run by half naked women and some on stripper poles. So you can watch while you play. Also, it's got a more upper scale younger vibe than NYNY. Also PH Has a happening mall you can scope out the ladies, and even catch "Peep Show" with my bud Holly Madison!

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy NYNY too, but for what you guys want, def PH!

Everybody talks about the lack of resort fees at places like PH, but PH charges for internet. Usually a resort fee would cover internet usage, so it works out to (roughly) breaking even. I was at PH in November and the charge for in-room internet was $12/day, IIRC.

I would still go with PH because it's a nicer hotel overall. Even the cheap rooms are fairly spacious and have a comfy desk for surfing Flyertalk.com. And yeah, Earl of Sandwich is a nice fast bite. As of November they have rearranged the valet and it works a little better (you pull all the way up to the valet desk instead of stopping back by the bell desk).

I've never paid for hotel internet in Vegas when on leisure trips. My BlackBerry and iPhone has gotten me by for years. Plus, I now have a 3G aircard and will soon be getting a 4G MiFi. Any hotel that forces you to pay for amenities you may not be is best to be avoided.

Earls of Sandwich has free internet downstairs. I just walk down there when needed. Also, grabbed myself a sandwich everytime too...
