Vegas is known for the looong blocks and getting from inside a casino to a street can be a good hike as well. That said, from inside Trump is about a 10 block walk to Las Vegas Blvd.

Various perspectives...

Go to street view in google maps and walk from the Trump to the strip virtually to get an idea of the distance.

Relatively speaking, you can see the Fashion Mall right beside it so it's basically like walking from one end of a mall to the other. If you're going to be walking the strip anyways, it's not a significant extra walk.

I've never made the walk myself so I'm not sure how pleasant it is. I'm curious how dated the google map images are because there seems to be a lot of construction. Trump doesn't even look finished so I'm guessing it's a bit dated.

They also have a free shuttle that will bus you to the corner. I ended up taking it by accident when the valet couldn't get a taxi to show up in a timely fashion. It's about a thirty second ride and it drops you at the corner of the mall, next to the crosswalk.

Also there's no construction anymore. It's totally finished and there are sidewalks and landscaping.

Yeah, so it's about a 10 minute walk to the Strip itself, but then probably another 5 minutes to get into the casino at Wynn or Encore, or longer to any other casinos.

Reminds me of the time a German friend asked me, "How long is the flight from LA to Hollywood?"

Trump Towers is, of course, ON the Strip, but I think you knew that.
As far as location - well, you are across the street from Encore and Wynn, and next door to Fashion Mall, but from then on, it is a bit of a walk. Then again, everything is a "bit of a walk" in Vegas, so be sure to wear those comfortable shoes!

Chance are that no matter where you stay on The Strip, you will walk more than you have in years - so Trump is really no better or worse in that regard.
For that matter, even if you stayed at the new City Center, it is one hell of a schlep just to get out of your room, through the casino, through the mall and out to The Strip - pack a lunch!

People are amazed at just how big these places are - they seem to think the hotel/casinos are about the size of the lobby at your Motel 6 - and are shocked to discover that some of them are about the size of an airport runway.

No true. I just stayed there about 2 weeks ago, and I walked right to the strip. It is about 2 city blocks. You are right up at the Fashion Mall corner. It is very convenient.

Err... No - it's not ON the strip but it's only a few minutes walk away. From a distance and transport perspective, I wouldn't hesitate staying there although have no idea what it's like.

If it's very hot I would cross the road and walk through the air conditioned FSM.

The exit at the other end of the FSM is right beside the walkways to Wynn/Venetian and TI. Try to avoid passing TI when the pirate show is going on - it's a nightmare.

I was at the side entrance of Nordstrum in the Fashion Show Mall (we managed to pick up and iPad even after joining the queue as late as around 10:45am) and was surprised to see the entrance of the Trump International directly opposite.

So it is not behind the Fashion Show Mall even although is still near the back end.

To be honest, if you measure the distance from the back portion of Vdara or Bellagio to the Strip, it is probably the same distance as the Trump International to the Strip. However, given you wander to the casino area and the shopping area, you do not really appreciate the distance within the hotel. The Trump International is separated from the strip so the walk is outdoors and therefore feels further from the strip.
