Then that would just be a foreign transaction fee, not an exchange fee...

I think I've had LAN.com (Peru site) transactions show up as processed in Chile.

Both my wife and myself received the offer in the mail. We are interested in the 20% off provision but I went to the card website and couldn't find any more information about it.

Does it apply to all fares, all classes and all flights?

Or if someone could just point me to where to find the information.

The footnote just says :
Cardmembers will receive a discount each year on their first LAN Airlines or its Affiliate carriers’ purchase transaction made with a LANPASS Visa Credit Card: 10% discount for LANPASS Visa Cards and 20% discount for LANPASS Visa Signature Cards. The discount will appear automatically as “LAN Discount“ on the cardmember's LANPASS Visa Card statement no later than the second billing cycle following the date of the transaction. This discount may be used on up to four (4) LAN Airline or its Affiliate carriers’ tickets, will be applied once annually, and will be renewed each calendar year. The maximum discount per year is equal to $1,000 for the LANPASS Visa Signature and $500 for the LANPASS Visa Cards. The LANPASS Visa Card Account must be open and in good standing at time the discount is applied.

I'm thinking of getting this for non-stop, small midwest city to DFW for positioning trips using AA. Would this work?

20K miles ==> 32K kms signon bonus.

ICT ==> DFW = 330 miles or 532 kms

One-way redemptions of 532 kms = 8.0 K kms.

So I would get 2 round trip tickets on AA from ICT to DFW with the signon bonus here, correct? Do I need to use them RT or can I use them one-way?

MJLouise my lappy is in desperate need of a reboot so I cannot check right now, but I am 99% certain that you are wrong.

LANpass OW redemptions on such a short hop would be 6000kms so you should actually get 3 return trips

Just my luck to be 32 kms too far. Maybe I could ask them to let me out a little early :thinking:

Has anyone gotten both the Visa Signature and Visa?

I'm trying to accumulate LAN km for a family trip to Peru in summer 2013. I've got a bunch of SPG miles to transfer but they're so valuable, I'd love to max out on LANPass Visa bonus miles.

I see a link for the Visa Signature for 20K miles (32km) and the regular Visa comes with 15k miles (24km) for a total of 56km. If my husband and I can each get both, we'd have 112 km which is enough for 2 RT flights from the US to Lima (48km).

That would save me 40K SPG points so well worth the credit pulls, but wondered if anyone has data on whether US Bank is likely to give us both.

Thanks,

Anita

If interested email me. I can send you the link. Perhaps we can start a "Conga Line"
If I decide apply, I'll PM you. Need to narrow down the number of cards to go after.

Has anyone gotten both the Visa Signature and Visa? (bump)

I'm looking to get the LANPASS 20k, but before I do, I want to know to know two things:

1) Can I get both cards? Do I need to request both cards the same day? Anita, or anybody - had luck with this?

2) Somebody PM me their link so they can get an extra 5k off me. (Maybe someone in the future will be so kind to me too?)

Cheers,
Ed

never got any response

I never heard from anyone who tried both. If you go for it, please repost. I'll do the same. I'm next submitting apps in march and I might go for it.

Also, would be happy to use someone's number to get them an extra bonus. Pm me or send a referral link or whatever
