Glad to see most international flights are unaffected. Hopefully they will reach an agreement soon.

The government considers KE to be "essential transportation service," so even though the pilots strike, they are legally prohibited from mass disruptions to service. It won't be that big.

Similarly, there was a rail strike here earlier this year. Minimal disruptions.

The affected flights are posted online. If yours are affected they would have emailed you by now. They update the list periodically.

On the second day of the strike, 190 pilots of 2300 participated in the strike, although a maximum of 460 (20%) are allowed by law to do so. The claim is that only an average of two international flights per day or 24 during the entire strike will be cancelled which is about 2% of the scheduled 1,293 previously scheduled international flights according to KE.

The issue is that pilots want a 29% pay increase, down from 34%, to be competitive with working conditions for pilots at competing carriers especially those based in mainland
China where wages are said to be three times higher. The KE pilots are presenting this as a safety issue to retain experienced pilots. Management has offered a 1.9% increase. The last strike by KE pilots was eleven years ago.
