Korean air First class on 747-8i or a380 ?

Hey,
I'm currently planning a 3 weeks world tour in december with the following routing

CDG-BKK THAI First A380
BKK-KUL THAI Business 777
KUL-LGK Malaysia Airlines Business 737
LGK-KUL Malaysia Airlines Business 737
KUL-ICN Korean Air First 777-300
ICN-JFK Korean Air First A380 or 747-8i ( HERE'S THE QUESTION )
EWR-SEA Delta Business 757-200
SEA-YYC Delta First CRJ 700
YYC-AMS KLM business class 787-9
AMS-CDG Air France business class A321

So here comes the real question :

- Korean Air actually operate two flights per day to NYC, one in the morning operated by an a380 and one in the afternoon operated by a 747-8i and after reading reviews and so on I can't decide myself which one I should choose...

So If you've ever flew Korean Air first class or if you've got some tips please let me know which flight is the best .

* PS: please let me know if you've got any thought on my routing.

Caveat I've never flown Korean F. that said, the main difference between the two planes is that the A380 has the old F seat while the 748 has the the new suite. the new suite looks like the old one, but with a sliding door. So if that's not a big enticement I'd just pick the most convenient schedule. Both products look fantastic.

787-9 on new KLM biz class is a good score too. Otherwise, you could try to take a quick flight YYC-YVR and get on AF, but I don't know if they have the BEST seat on that route.

No unfortunatly AF don't fly best to YVR... otherwise I would have chosen AF.
A380 schedule seem more convenient.

Thanks.

If indifferent to schedule then I'd take 748 (better seat), otherwise I'd go for the most convenient schedule (assuming availability).

not sure why people really care about a door. i just flew on the a380 2 weeks ago and there was only 4 people in first anyways. no one was side by side anyone else.

I agree about the seat; I have flown both and either is excellent.

One reason to go with the 747 is that the F seats have an air vent; the A380 does not. Not a small matter on an airline that likes to keep the cabin at 25-27 degrees C. With a lot of very polite pushing I have gotten them to turn it down to 22, but that is the absolute lowest they will go.

I'd say A380. A380 is always better in first, if nothing else the bathrooms are bigger.

My friend insists if you see a 777-300ER with the new business class in a 2 x 2 x 2 configuration that means it has Kosmos 2.0 in first? Is that true. I thought on the 747-8i had Kosmos 2.0 in first.

It is true. Some 77W are with new seats.
More 77Ws to be delivered in coming years with new seats.

The schedule of the 748 on the JFK route is horrible for connections, as it arrives at night time in JFK, and at that time there aren't many same-day connection options.
Heck, even if my destination was New York, I'd still choose the day-time flight on the A380 for better arrival time.

I did not even use the door in the 747-8i seat. They also do not have a dedicated bathroom for first (rather they have a sign that is not followed).
I would say A380

I like the 748 sky interior. 77W does have the new seats, had it once ICN-HKG.

They lock the doors on the 748 F Bathroom everytime to make sure J pax don't use it.

I would go for 748. More privacy

That explains why I had to wait to use the restroom . When all of the other passengers in first were sitting in their seat.

Right and flight attendant should have saw the F PAX leaving there seat first thing and have the door opened by the time you're there

Generally routes with the 748 I flew I was either the only pax or only one other pax vs all occupied or even an half.

I am just pointimg out your statement is wrong. They do not lock the door "everytime". I even wonder if they do it much.

I just feel the 748 is a worse experience than the a380
