Will KE Swap A380 in ATL this Year?

I'm looking at booking a business class award ticket for travel early January 2017 on KE and want to try out the new Prestige Suites. I know currently the A380 is scheduled to fly then to Atlanta but in 2016 there is a mix of 777 and 747-8i. What are the odds that Korean will swap equipment between now and then or do they have pretty full planes that time of the year? I'm considering routing through another city and then connecting to Atlanta to try the new product as I'll already have a leg on the A380 from BKK to ICN.

Thanks.

It's way too early to make guesses about KE equipment. They do regular seasonal changes, often (but not always) putting in some equipment through to end of schedule only to change it 3–6 months out to match what had been on at the comparable time of year in the previous year.

Gotcha. So if I want to get the new business class, I should either go through Chicago (747-8i), NYC (747-8i), SF (747-8i) or DC (777) to be safe? Thanks for the tip

There are no guarantees of aircraft type on any route that far ahead.

Yeah it makes it tough. I'd naturally like the direct flight from ICN to ATL but really want the new Prestige Suites and have no idea if the A380 will be swapped out or not. I think I may just book through to ORD (even though weather can be dodgy in January) as they have either the 747-8i or new 777 during the entire 2016 year.

Long story short, I ended up booking SIN-ICN on 77W (old business class) and ICN-ATL on A380 due to award availability. As much as I'd like to try the A380, I'm kind of hoping it gets swapped for the 77W or 747-8i with new Prestige Suites. Thanks for the help everyone

I'm eyeballing flights in September. The original equipment, the 380, was just swapped for a 77W and ExpertFlyer and KE are both showing it as the 2-3-2 model. Any chance this gets swapped either back to the 380, or really to anything with the 2-2-2 J seats?

If it goes back to the 380 I will stay in F, otherwise I wouldn't care to go to J if it's the new suite. Just trying to see how reliable the A/C is at 4 months out.

Not certain that this is of any help, but flying ATL-ICN-ATL next week - outbound Delta website tells me I will be on a 747 and the return leg is listed as an A380.

For the past two weeks, they've used the 748 every day. Keep those fingers crossed!
