Checking bags through with KE

Checking bags through with KE
Hi,
If I were to fly in to ICN on KE and continue on SQ, would KE check my bags through assuming I have separate tickets? Normally they would since QS is selling the ticket but I want to use my miles.
I know it's always up to the airport staff but, generally speaking, do they do it, refuse all the time, or "whoknows" (please explain)?
