To me, this seat type (same as JL) is among the handful of the very best J class seats available today. Curious what you would have been happy with, without seriously encroaching F class territory.

That's good to hear. I wish they would rip out the A380 J seats for this now!

The current Prestige sleeper seats are also the intra-Asia F class seat but has some sort of table thing under the LCD TV. I suppose hard product is the same for F and J but different soft product.

It's both
It's an F and a J seat:

As has already been mentioned in this thread, this is a version of the B/E Apex (http://beaerospace.com/products/seat...st-class/apex/), the seat JL is marketing as the JAL Sky Suite in J on their "SS7" 77W (2-3-2) and "SS8" 788s (2-2-2). Oman Air has also purchased this product.

I looked around for more info on Korean websites/blogs/etc. Apparently they'll be rolling out on the A330-300 for now and will be installed on newly delivered aircraft which includes the B748, B787, and B773 or something like that. I'll check again later today. This is the news article that reports on the rollout of the seat: http://view.asiae.co.kr/news/view.ht...10207263695943
HL8001 and HL8002 (both A333) currently have the new Prestige Suites. I got this info along with pictures here: http://cafe.naver.com/hotellife/641300
The upsetting thing is I haven't seen any mention re installing the seats on the A388.
I'll keep scouring the Korean websites but so far, some other sites seem to state that because of the macademia nut incident, KE has postponed announcing the new seat. I suppose they want the negative air to clear before announcing a new product.

I don't think 77W will change from the Kosmo Suite in F (otherwise it would be a big downgrade if they changed to this seat). So your GRU-ICN on 77W will be the Kosmo Suite.
It should only be the J seats which are subject to replacement with the new Prestige Suites.

KE introduces another version of F/C seat
Amid the chaos, KE quietly introduced yet another new version of first and business class, named First Class and Prestige Suite. This is just like JAL's newest version. Finally KE does something for privacy.
KE will not upgrade existing fleets. These seats will be introduced to newly delivered fleets only, which are 6 333 (among which 3 are already delivered, running SIN BNE HAN etc), 12 77W, 10 748, and 10 789.
First class: Not sure long haul fleets will also have this. For 333, this is much better for sure
