Longtime lurker, first-time registering/posting. I've searched the forums pretty carefully but I can't find any reference to this question.
The vanilla Skypass visa offer from US Bank isn't very tempting at 5k-10k bonus miles, but I noticed that I often get targeted offers from Korean Air for higher signup bonuses. We fly Korean pretty often to/from China as we love their pet service -- always make us feel more comfortable and at ease than flying with any of the US-based carriers -- so we value Skypass miles and elite membership with KE.
1. I just got a 40k targeted visa signature offer, and a 20k targeted business visa offer. My question is, has anyone received higher offers in the past? I'm not in a hurry to pull the trigger on an application, so I'm ok to sit and wait for a higher offer if it might come along later.
2. Also, from the T&C, it seems that the bonus miles count for attaining the entry-level elite membership, which would cause those 40k miles to nearly grant me entry-level elite membership instantly. Am I reading this right? This seems very valuable -- loads of bonus miles AND elite membership for a relatively low spend ($1k in three months).
3. Are they churnable at all? If the answer to 2 above is yes, then it would be awesome to apply now, reach Morning Calm membership, cancel before the yearly fee is due, then apply again a year later to satisfy maintaining requirements. This would sound a little too good to be true ("buying" Morning Calm elite membership for $1k/every two years), but has anyone had success with it?
Like I said, I looked for these answers all around and couldn't find anything. I considered posting this in the credit card forum -- is that more appropriate? I saw there were many other Skypass CC questions here, though.
Thanks for any insight!

An answer to number two: 30,000 of those miles must be earned flying on KE in order to reach the Morning Calm status of 50,000, The rest can be from credit cards.
Thanks for the answers. I didn't realize that about having to fly as much metal to qualify. The literature I got from the cc offers referred to the website, which I didn't think was crystal clear. But this makes perfect sense.
The 40k offer seems like it'd be the highest or close to it given a standard 5-15k bonus, but I have a nagging feeling I heard someone mention something above 50k once and I don't want to kick myself down the road if I miss that.
Hi my wife got this offer for 40k, is this the highest ever seen?
Also I wonder if I may also jump into this offer? It seems targeted for specific person... wonder how to become targeted?
Thanks for all the help and good luck
Best I have seen.
I signed up for a skypass account a while back and got direct mail offers because of that. Wish I had took the offers then because now I could use 40k miles!
If you plan to fly KE, especially in F, I would do it. Not easy miles to get aside from Chase UR or flying.

I also received KE 40k Signature Visa offer in mail.
Despite good credit score (800), US Bank gave me the Classic Visa instead, not the Signature Visa, and no explanation. Not nearly as good a deal; probably won't even activate the Classic card.
I'm not a frequent flyer, but hey - they (KE) invited me to apply. Switch and bait?
That's rough. I never took up the 40k snail mail offer, and I do regret it. Since then I've had two 10k snail mail offers and a 15k e-mail offer, but that's it.

I have no previous experience with US Bank, but it does look like switch and bait. I have read in other forums, people with high credit scores with similar experiences when they applied for the FlexPerks Visa during the Olympics, when the bank ran a promotion where the bonus was dependent on the number of medals won by Team USA...needless to say, the medal count and the bonus was pretty high towards the end of the promo...
I have received only 15K Skymiles e-mail offer so far, but I only fly KE just about once every two years.
