I've just flown from London to Seoul and back on Korean Air. I thought I can register for a frequen flyer program later and redeem the miles when I get back to London. However, I called the local Korean Air office and was informed that I only can accumulate miles for the flights I make after the registration.
I know that many airlines allow claiming miles for flights taken within certain period before the registration. I suspect there may be some Skyteam members that allow claiming miles even for partner airline flights, but I haven't seen them yet.
Do you think there's still a way for me to claim miles for these flights or they're gone?
hope you still have your boarding pass, because the process of claiming partner miles on DL after the flight is very painful, if i were you, i'd give KE another try.

Thanks, I was clearly said that according to their policy they do not accept flights made prior to registration. Or do you have reasons to think that the person I spoke with (in London KE office) could've been mistaken?

All the FF programs i know allows retroactive miles, so i really don't think they'll deny your request, if i were you, i'd sign up for skypass right now, and then fill a missing mileage request, and if that dosen't do it, then consider other options, but keep in mind if you choose DL, you'll have less than 50% chance of success and they make you mail in the BP, and you won't be getting it back, so make a photo copy before hand.
edit; i just check the KE website, and i think the agent might be right, it dose say "Mileage accrual is not available for any flights taken prior to SKYPASS membership enrollment." So i stand corrected, and i have to say i'm very surprised, but i'd still think KE might give you a better chance, especially if the flight date and your skypass sign up date are pretty close.
