Guys, you should really stop talking about this. Yes it works so please stop drawing attention to it.

NOT impressed. 32" waist and still felt so cramped.
Dreadful seating, service same as Y class and no extras.
REAL Economy Comfort I have flown have been TK and AF.
NO more KLM for me -- not worth it and told my company based in AMS that I would even pay that little extra to fly on non-KLM. Felt the economy part but not the comfort!
And why exactly did you think you'd receive any extras? As becomes clear from almost any review/description and certainly here on FT, Economy Comfort is just extra legroom and recline. It is nothing like PREMIUM Economy which is a different class of service on AF/TK/BR etc, a different cabin class. Did you think 100E would get you into a separate class of service between Eco and Business?

By offering Economy Comfort, is KLM acknowledging that their standard Economy seats are not comfortable ?

Business Class is forbidden if you're travelling for pleasure?

I very much doubt it is illegal (I have never been arrested or prosecuted for this transgression, at least), but financial constraints may rule out this option for some.

Finnair will soon also introduce a longhaul "premium economy light", which will also be called Economy Comfort:

- 35" pitch
- improved headrest
- amenity kit
- priority boarding

For this they will charge between €45 and €65.

KL charges twice as much for what? 34" pitch and bit more recline.

Though considering that EC on long-haul flights seem to be quite full you cannot blame KL setting for the current prices (as apparently there are enough people willing to pay).

I am not sure which one is less likely - KL dropping the price for EC on LH flights or improving the service (e.g. amenity kit). Obviously I would prefer the latter.

But are all those EC seats filled with paying pax, or just those who checked in late?

Every now and then I check people in for AMS-MNL, flights that are mostly (nearly) full. Each and every time the seatmap shows the vast majority of paid-for seats still available.

I am sure there are certain routes which do not see many paying pax (e.g. MNL), but on the other hand I am sure that quite a few routes there are many paying pax.

Sure there must be some formula behind it.

Did anyone notice an issue with the discount for elites? The price offered is the remains the same, whether a new or existing booking, logged in or logged out.

KL should recognize your status as a FB elite (+)
Are you a non-FB elite (ie Delta SM)? Cause the ict of KL still has problems recognize the correct status of those elites.
