I can't understand why KLM is not just deploying the B77W to CPT on the days it's supposed to go to GRU.
Do you know whether all KL 777 crews are type rated for the -300 yet? If not (which is likely at this stage of the game), then it could be that the crew scheduled to operate to CPT and/or sitting in CPT waiting to operate back to AMS are not yet 773 rated.
Not to mention all the other arrangments such as is the 777 engineering team in CPT prepared and certified on the -300 yet, etc etc. Introducing a new type takes time and switching it here, there and everywhere at this stage of the game is going to cause more trouble than its worth. Stick to the game plan and you won't find yourself in the embarassing situation of having BVA stuck at an airport it can't get out of quickly.

Nick, I think it is related to KL request for Brazilian Authorities (ANAC) for 7 additional frequencies AMS-GRU/GIG. KL requested 7 additional frequencies and ANAC denied the additional frequencies to GRU and GIG, although authorised KLM to operate the additional frequencies to NE Brazil, which KL has no interest. KL has now appealed to ANAC decision and in my opinion the B77W is being used as a vehicle to convince ANAC to grant KL the additional frequencies.
Secondly, you report the 19 Feb flight to GRU with only 97 pax - a work colleague was on WBC exactly at this flight and told me it was completely full. Are you sure the loads are correct?

Positively sure. I have the numbers here with me. Incidentally, my partner was also on board that flight.
Funny. I just checked again with my work colleague and he tells me otherwise...maybe he is still with jetleg
Loads were 24 in WBC and 73 in the back, but I was told the crew upgraded some more people after the doors were closed so the WBC was quite full although at least 2 middle seats remained open.

if there are 327-seats available (772ER) how do they seat/transport more on certain flights?
And then there are the non-revs in FA or jump seats.

I encountered a non-rev on yesterday's JNB-AMS flight. He had been stuck in CPT for three days trying to get a seat to AMS. With no prospect of improvement and hotel bills mounting, he bought a full-fare one-way to JNB. His flight from CPT was delayed, but he managed to get on the AMS flight as the very last pax.
As of now it seems KLM will deploy the 77W to three destinations in the upcomming summer schedule: JFK, GRU and MNL.
KL641/642 JFK 3wk
KL803/804 MNL 3wk
KL791/792 GRU 4wk
Will this be the final schedule or are there any chances that KLM will again change the schedule and reinstate KIX or start another destination.
Also is there any news on the rumored config change. could it be that the second plane will already be delivered with a 42/49J config?
On a side note, now a couple 772 stations will see some 77W action what will be the schedule for the 772 fleet, next summer?

Interesting. So GRU is up to 4wk again. We can only hope that the second B77W will come with a 2 cabin WBC configuration. This would be the least for KLM to deploy the B77W on a more competitive fashion to key heavy density markets.
Anyone knows of any trip report on KL B77W with pics?
