Great! Would have been greater if they had employed their newer A330 on the route

Does anyone know when booking may be opened for this sector?

If the A330 turns out to be anything like the 772, I would take the MD11 any day.

Tough to beat the forward WBC cabin on MD-11. Two rows of 2-2-2, better service and few people. Niiiiiice.

Maa?

When're we going to see AMS-MAA on KL/NW?

I'm looking for the day I can fly with only one stop SEA-MAA. It's not possible today (even with BA due to misconnects).

DL's (rumoured) poor performance on CDG-MAA shouldn't be a factor in deciding AMS-MAA. NW/KL have done a better job of linking US with AMS than DL/AF (with CDG) and I wager we'll see better loads on AMS-MAA.

KLM to launch flights to Hyderabad this winter
Airline to boost presence in India, will fly state of the art 777 aircraft to Delhi

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will be launching flights between Amsterdam and Hyderabad in India on commencement of the forthcoming winter schedule. This represents KLM’s first initiative in response to the recently expanded airline rights obtained for operations to and from India and a further expansion of KLM’s global network from its Amsterdam Schiphol hub. KLM’s partners Northwest Airlines and Air France will simultaneously initiate services to Bangalore in South India from Amsterdam and Paris respectively. Launching the new flights will serve to strengthen SkyTeam’s position as the No. 1 alliance in the rapidly expanding Indian airline market.

Effective October 30, KLM will initiate thrice-weekly service between Amsterdam and Hyderabad on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, operating MD-11 equipment. These flights will connect well with the transatlantic services operated by KLM and Northwest at Schiphol. Additionally, KLM will be increasing capacity on its daily service to Delhi by deploying Boeing 777 equipment instead of the MD-11.

The amount of tech-related money flowing around HYD is quite substantial and growing; the largest investment flows in that sector seem to be related to locations around (in no particular order) Bangalore, Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi, Hyderabad, Madras, and Pune.

HYD's current airport can't accomodate large planes - almost everything I've ever seen there is MD, 737, or smaller. They new airport opens in 2008 and will be equipped up to A380.
