A few quick thoughts about T5

Flew out of T5 for the first time today, security was relatively quick and laid out well. Food Court nice setup, purchase different things at different places pay once at checkout. Food to gate was convienent but limited and a bit pricey. I saw an intresting thing when the cockpit door was open, gates at T5have an electronic board which tells the pilot, flight #, Destination, the reg # of the plane assigned and a countdown to scheduled departure. Don't know if this is special or not but I found it neat.

Those signs are also on T4 at JFK. They are an automated guideance system the parks the plane with out a marshaller. Once the plane is parked the board switched to provide vital information to the pilots just like you saw.
