My first JetBlue experience
I finally had the opportunity to fly B6 for the first time last week from JFK-BQN. It is one of just a very small handful of airlines that fly into BQN (Aguadilla, Puerto Rico). I reserved the seats with extra leg room which provided great pitch but the only complaint with the seats were that they were a bit uncomfortable after a couple hours. Luckily the flight was just under four hours. The FA's were extremely friendly and on the ball with snack and drink re-fills. All-in-all it was a great first experience with B6. I will definitely use them again to get back down to Aguadilla.

Cool, Welcome aboard. Glad you enjoyed your trip. That's a very popular route. See ya soon.

I had my first flight yesterday, from ORD - JFK. Can't say I was impressed. Seems the inbound left JFK without a food cart, which is a no-go item apparently, and the crew should have spotted this. They didn't tell Chicago till after it landed, so they tried to borrow one from United but JetBlue ops said no, and moved everyone onto the next flight, so we arrived over 4 hours late.
If the crew can't do their pre flight checks properly it does make me question what other checks they have missed. Why a food cart is a required item I don't know.
We did get the impression that Jetblue wanted to move everyone as a cost saving measure though, guess it saves them some money.
At JFK we waited at carousel 2 for ages wqatching bags go round, as told to us by the crew and the monitors, until we were told our bags were on no.3 Very poor service here.
So, I missed the show I was seeing last night, have a useless $50 credit and will not fly with them again if I can avoid it.
I had booked an exit row seat, so they did manage to give me one of those, however the guy next to me, in the window seat had loads of bags at his feet. This isn't allowed on UK flights, the exits need to be left clear. Poor safety announcements, we could hardly hear it, however the captain is getting married in two weeks, so that's nice!

Without speaking to the rest of the issues you mentioned, I can address this one. The airline is required to have either all the "bays" in the galley full or empty. This is to prevent the carts from sliding around or otherwise coming out and causing damage to the plane or a person. A missing cart could theoretically allow one in the galley to slide sideways and come out. That would be bad.
I don't know why they wouldn't borrow one if UA would let them. While it often seems that airlines don't want to fly planes if they are not full, more often the plane actually needs to get to the next destination to get to their following flights. In this case the plane needed to get out of ORD eventually, so no point in waiting for more passengers to show up.
Looks like you were originally on flight 908. It got to JFK at 6:30pm. It would've been tight, but you probably could've made the show at that point.

We may have got in earlier, but some crew who were travelling as pax, held us up by not being at the gate on time, so we missed our earlier slot.
Looks like there were a couple "loops" in the flight path, too, which certainly didn't help your chances. I wonder if 908 flew empty back to JFK. It certainly did fly earlier than the 916 that you got put on.

food cart checked. Boy Sparky you must be a joy to live with!!!! The bags can be safely placed under the seat so that they won't interfere with an emergency egress. Remember it was one of your safe UK airlines that torched a 737 on the runway several years back and killed numerous innocents. Evidently you have never flown on O'Leary's Ryanair.
22 August 1985; British Airtours 737-200; Manchester Airport, England: The crew rejected the takeoff due to an uncontained engine failure. The failure led to a punctured fuel tank and a fire that spread to the cabin. The accident killed 53 of 131 passengers and two of six crew members.

You're right but you're also misinformed in a couple of areas.
We don't carry "food carts" our carts onboard either have drinks or pillow/blankets/headsets. It is required by the FAA to have all carts onboard, as our pre-set weight and balance is calculated on every piece of equipment that should be onboard.
Yes, the outbound inflight crew should have caught the missing cart, unless provisioning removed it AFTER the crew did their checks.
As for the change in carousel we receive a "text" message prior to landing with the carousel information. Sometimes, not often, when the baggage handlers go to that carousel they find it occupied by another flight. That requires a quick change in carousels and the message boards may not be able to reflect that in a timely maner that would please you.
The safety announcments on the 190 aircraft are a bit low, however if you have your headset on you would be able to hear it loud and clear.
Did you tell the flight attendants the guy in your row had bags all over the place? Were they there when the FA's did their walk through or did he move them after the FA's were in their seats?
As a JB FA I well know the in's and outs of the whats and whys how things happen. So many things happen that the uneducated public simply do not understand. Sorry you didn't have a good "Jetting" experience. And you missed your show...wow.....something that happens to me each and every time I take customers where they need to be. DVR's are a great invention.

The OP may have been referring to a Broadway show - which missing would have meant losing a good chunk of change.

Better luck on your next airline.
The jetblue employee called it a food cart when he did the announcement. He also blamed the 2nd cabin crew member who did not spot it was missing. Jetblue blamed it on the crew on board, not me.
As for the carousel, some luggage was on the right belt, it just seemed that the luggage from our original flight was put on another belt.
I wasn't going to grass up the person next to me for having bags that were not under the seat, I have 2 hours of sitting next to him to look forward to, so that was not going to happen.
I had a great flight back on Virgin, no issues to report there, of course, a few cocktails at the onboard bar does help!
Oh, and I have a very nice DVR thank you. It recorded all my TV progs whilst away in the states.

Wow, I sure am glad I wasn't working that flight. I can't imagine having to work a trip with someone who points the finger over the PA. Pretty unprofessional.

If the divider was down then it could look like both bays were full, as that sounds like that is what happened. It sounds unprofessional to point fingers out over the PA and lay blame, honest mistakes happen and calling somebody out over the PA with a plane full of customers is not called for. Sorry about your bad experience.
