Airfare: Boston - New Orleans

What's a good airfare for BOS-MSY over the December holidays?

If it's anything like JFK, it'll vary heavily year to year based on what day Christmas (and therefore New Years) falls on.

Ex-JFK is usually $400-$600 if you're well ahead of time and flexible. It jumps to near $800 once you're within a month. If you fly on prime days (This year will be Fri Dec 22 and Tue 26) it will be $600+ and head up to over $900 within 3 months of the holiday.

That is probably the most expensive weekend of the year. If you get tickets under $700, you've found a deal.

In my hurry to book airfare, I completely forgot to check room rates in NOLA. Arghhh!!! HUNDREDS if not THOUSAND dollar per night!

I'd worry that AirBnB host would cancel the booking late, when hotel rates and availability are even worse.

Ouch, that's rough. AirBnB can be an option but I've honestly never used it in New Orleans.

Edit: Found a good solution. Booked my hotel room with points. The rate comes with 3-day free cancellation.
