Governor Cuomo said that officials are currently working on a masterplan for the entirety of JFK Airport, which should be unveiled within 12 months. Work on the TWA Flight Center Hotel is expected to break ground next year, and open in 2018.
So let the speculation begin.

So it'll open in 2025 and cost an extra billion dollars?

not unless the guvmint is in charge and paying for it which - according to the article - it is not. Private folks tend to be more efficient.

The PANYNJ is still involved in the overall process. And this is not the first time there has been discussion of a hotel there. I'm not holding my breath on this one.
