Two planes on the ground at Logan Airport collided when a Southwest plane backed up and hit a JetBlue plane.

The Associated Press reported that it happened just after 7 a.m. when a Southwest Boeing 737 headed for Kansas City began backing out of its gate. The plane’s left wingtip hit the “right horizontal stabilizer” of the JetBlue plane.

The Southwest plane’s wing sustained some damage. The Boston Globe reported that the JetBlue plane was uhharmed.

No injuries have been reported and Massport spokesperson Matthew Brelis told the AP that there was no impact on airport operations. The Federal Aviation Administration is aware of the incident and it is now under investigation.

We will update this with more information as it becomes available.

One photo on Twitter showed a decent gash in the B6 plane's right stabilizer - so I think the "unharmed" part isn't quite correct.

Planes don't have a 'reverse'

Hmmm. There's a strange spin to this.

Not sure if there is any connection, but my JetBlue flight from Chicago O'Hare to Boston Logan was delayed by over an hour yesterday.
Maybe they were a plane short somewhere along the line

There is a direct connection as the Jetblue plane that was hit was scheduled to operate BOS-ORD-BOS

Hmm, WN seems to have a habit of doing this. They recently hit a WestJet 737 at Orlando. They ended up lending WJ a winglet so the plane could fly back to Canada. There are pics of the WJ 737 with the WN winglet floating around on the net.

Actually, the Westjet 737 hit a parked Jetblue E190. Southwest loaned them a winglet so the Wesjet plane could go back to Canada.
